And if you take 20 minutes to apply and they say no, what have you really lost?

Dont be lazy about applying, and then ##### when you cant find a decent job.

Ive found that many LTLs take on rookies, regardless of what their website says.

All I said was, it doesnt hurt to apply. Thats it.

All they can do is say no.

If a company says they want 2 years experience and you dont have it, apply anyway.

Best thing about running local is never having to use a truck stop bathroom again :D

a lot more LTL companies are actually looking for guys starting out, to train the way they want. that was how i got my last job, rather then someone coming in for one day and laughing at dispatch for telling him he needs to unload his own trailer

    ghostchild and double_r Thank this.

That's good to know. I see you're in Massachusetts, is that the case there? I'm not far away in New York. I'm not sure what I want to do yet..my previous boss says he has a few contacts that may be hiring for local work, and a friend of mine is a truck driver so maybe I can get something local through him. The thing is I'm looking to drive a tanker and I can get that training if I stay with PRIME and do several months otr. It would be ideal if I could find local work driving a tanker, but that may be a little tricky.

How bout a trainer. Local companies send new employees out with trainers, weather they are new or experienced.
