You don't belong in a truck.

Not Really, probably only means toothless "Bubba" types have to get out and look. Not smart fellers like him!

I only hope when he lands that job with the "small Mom & Pop" company they don't go out of business paying for his "I got this"!

Actually you are on the money, I went to get my Hazmat and flunked the vision test at the DMV. That was a surprise. I knew my vision wasn't the best but I stopped wearing glasses in the army 17 years ago because they kept getting fogged up, scratched, you name it. I figured hell I don't need them I can still shoot expert and make 1,000 meter shots scoped.
Now bear in my I don't want to truck again. What I wanted to really know is what do I tell people about my time there. Incidents sound a hell of a lot better than accidents. If I say four accidents it sounds like I was playing grand theft auto.

That's a lot of accidents. All accidents, not incidents. All preventable. Yeah, you may be sitting a while. In ten years I have had 2 prevebtable accidents, one I rear ended someone doing like 5 mph. The other I ripped a trailer door off.

I understand. I can't see more than 20 feet in front of me without mine on. I hate to wear them but I hate hitting stuff with my truck even more.

Anyway as far as what to tell them tell them the truth. You can't see very well and you hit something four times in less than a year. It's all pretty much the same thing.

I know one thing...you can get all the degrees you want and claim you're smart, but common sense goes along way....

It appears that you don't have any common sense or just don't use it.

Any company I had worked for, under $100 was an incident.

Above that dollar amount, they were accidents. And from what I can see by your descriptions, all preventable.

Now as for any DAC report??

they WILL BE LISTED. (as accidents/incidents)

Then comes the "Re-hirable" remark on the DAC

    The employer "may say"----NO

    or -----"review required"

I think as you say, you entered this industry due to the economy. This has always been a "thorn" in my side, as when people lose thier jobs, they think that trucking will save them. Well it won't save anyone, who cannot do the job properly and safely.

I wish you well, but frankly, I sincerely hope no one will hire you. The dollar amounts thus far that you have caused your employer to pay are totally uncalled for.

You claim that maybe your depth perception isn't good?? (or words to that effect??)

NO EXCUSE, you still screwed up and did damages. A professional driver would have gotten out and looked, no matter his lack of a full set of teeth, or his lack of a high school diploma from what YOU consider to be a bonafide school.

In your 1 year of driving, you did NOT demonstrate a professional attitude, but one of, "when is my next paycheck, because I am only in this due to the fact I couldn't get anything else, and I thought truck driving would save me".

You got (or are getting) what you truly deserve from the members here regarding your attitude and outlook on a profession that so many GET INTO for the sheer desire and love of the industry. It is HACKS LIKE YOU that need to be drummed out.

Good luck, but I do not wish you well in your endeavor to obtain another trucking job.

You are a typical trucker overflowing with self loathing and the kind of people I could not stand to be around. Enjoy your bitter life.
I did get into trucking over the economy much the same way a girl takes to a stripper pole. it did save me in fact, it did exactly what I wanted it to do. I got paid, I gave up the apartment And paid down most of my debt. I'm sure it will piss you off that I'm not homeless under a bridge.
Sorry to tell you what you already know, trucking is a McJob that anyone can do. It's not rocket science. As for costing the company money, well they more than made that up with the shorted miles, oops we forgot the detention pay, oops we forgot this. They even had the balls to say a shipper MOVED FOUR miles so it wasn't short haul pay anymore.
Enjoy your crooked ### industry surrounded by pimps and thieves.
