Too funny. Actually, it was good that I didnt mess with the 5W. While trying to hook up to a load last night trainer McSwift overshot the kingpin. Not only that but once we got the tractor and trailer apart the jaws were locked!

It took us some time and a call to road assist to get it open so we could connect. We dropped that load this AM (IA to TN) and are being loaded again for a run from TN to NV and CA.

Got to bump my first dock and it was my first visit to TN. Not bad for having driven all night. Gotta like the miles.

That's why we get out and look at the clearance between the glide plate and the fifth wheel - before you get a surprise. The fifth wheel on a Cascadia is mounted a couple of inches closer to the ground than the Paccar products - almost guarantees trouble eventually.

Time for and update. As week three draws too a close I find myself, once again out of time. I guess that's a good thing.

So what have I been up to? Glad you asked.
I got my first 600 mile run
Crossed the country 2x ( for a total of 4)
Added TN to my visited states list
    Did my first straight dock
And this AM did my first 90
Crossed the width Of NE and NV
    Crossed Donner Pass
Unstuck a trailer that was overshot and get the shank behind the 5W. NO, I was NOT driving at the time.

    Not a bad week.

In my first three weeks we have run over 12k miles.
Now if I can only learn the #### secret hand shake!

It's right next to the procedure sheet on how to drive your truck right up the gangplank onto the freighter at the dock.

Don't forget, you need a TWIC card for the port.
