Still trying to choose between two CDL schools in Phx..... Possibly AIT, but all they talk about is Stevens, and I haven't found any positives about them yet. The more I look into Werner, the more I think I like them, but is their fleet as ratty as I keep hearing? They do seem to offer more hometime, and I want to run regional. Good luck, 'racin'...
Werner it is!

Werner has a bad habit of putting greenhorns in beaters getting started out. They'll usually get you in something newer after a year, and some are lucky and get a year or two old unit within 6 months.
They're stockpiling pete 367s in dallas, and columbus, OH is overflowing with brand new T700s waiting for stickers. They'll probably have them rolling in a year or so. -

I was with with werner for 2 1/2 years, they was decent not the best, don't trust everything they tell you. I got sick while driving called dispatch for help told them i was having a heart attack. all they wanted to know was how was the truck! was on medical leave for 3 months and they fired me 1 week before i was due to go back to work. They don't care about there drivers.

I would not have said it any better Boss -
I am going to Werner soon and I am there to get my time in then be out. I am aware of all the problems the company is said to have and that is fine with me. This is not my first Company to drive for. I was with Swift back in 09 but left due to a major family emergency and found a local job. I am back to finish what i started.

Best of luck to you guys! I myself am flying out to Dallas in 10 hours...I decided to go with Stevens. Watch my blog if you're interested in my journey.

Good luck. Basically all you need to do is "roll with the punches" and keep your mind on your experience time. Deal with the bull for now, then get out the right way . Many people get too antsy at the end and mess-up by getting a abandonment charged to their DAC.
