Those of us with the 10,20 or 30 years can't help it that we've been everywhere, done everything and gotten filthy rich in the process. It just goes to our heads and we can't help ourselves.
Hammer166 and Red Hot Mess Thank this. -

wait, filthy rich??? what have i been doin wrong?????

I understand on what you're trying to say here and I do agree to some point. But if we ask only certain types of questions then we have no recourse against the truck stop lawyers spreading bogus information that might get someone in trouble or worse get them hurt. Let them ask the wayout questions and hope someone with the reference can prove or even have a few of us say the same response might have a better outcome. I think what any good driver is telling a new driver is if you do not know go and check it out. Show him or her the book or web sites. -
Funny you mention those truckstop lawyers. I always se some poor sap listening to heir lines. Makes me wanna go over and grab them by the arm and say "come on honey, we gotta go the bear just pulled in and they are gonna catch us."

-
Ironic that you post this. I've been in "service plaza" on the Kansas Turnpike, for a quick P break, and to grab a sandwich. In walked one of the "bears". I suddenly felt the need to capitalize on him being on his break. Paid for my food, and headed on down the road.
Now this also caused me to have very strange mixed feelings. You see from my past, it would be my nature to walk up and start talking to him. This time however I really didn't want to. Why? I really don't know, except from being repeatedly fed how "bad" they are, from fellow drivers. Now the strangeness comes from, when I was a "cop", I didn't feel like any of the truckers wanted to talk to me because I was a "cop". So unless they spoke up first, I wouldn't initiate a conversation, well unless I was conducting business, traffic stop, ect. However quite the opposite was true. I wouldn't mind a bit talking to them on a friendly basis.
So for now, I guess I'll just talk to other drivers and myself, as I can still feel that I can talk to one LEO, without fear of being dissected, inspected, or insulted...
-
So do other cops think you sold out? LOL kidding
I didn't talk much when I was driving..to anybody...just kept to myself..I had a few guys I met at terminals etc..and trainees I trained that I kept in touch with..so unless something ticked me off I was quiet...Usually that was in el paso yellin at the drug dealers to go to hell with their "party favors"

I have no problem talking to the po po. Got plenty of friends who are Leo's and they are just people like you and me. I do try to mind my p's n q's though cause I DO NOT wanna end up in one of their crazy perl stories!
-
Careful when you talk to yourself, this leads to arguing with yourself which is bad enough, However when you LOOSE the Arguement with yourself, This is where you have a PROBLEM!!!!Eaton18 Thanks this.
