I just drove 10.5 hours and applied for my TWIC yesterday morning at the KC center. They will transfer your TWIC card to any other center upon request. They asked me if I wanted my transferred to a different center and I declined as the KC location is closest to me. Crazy. 10.5 hour drive one way for a ten minute appointment then the same just to pick the card up.

they will send it to another location for pickup , if you tell them at the office when you apply for it. once it is sent to that location you pick it up there because you have to enter a password and match your fingerprint in order to pick it up.

i dont believe they will transfer it after it has been sent to the location you chose at the beginning

Because most drive barely (if even) legal trucks, pull pos chassis, drive like jerks, run you off the road, dont speak english. The whole time i was there it was nothing but guys yelling at each other and blowing there horns and fighting over chasis.....

Same way up here in DFW area. They haul out of BNSF and UP yards. We were leased onto Norco pulling OD on extendable step in 09-10. Would have to go to FTW yard in Saginaw. The container trash would all be in there arguing and raising Hell. Less than 10% were Americans. Rotten old worn out trucks parked every where except where they were supposed to be. May be better other places, but in all I've been to they are not the creme of the crop. They don't make squat and have no one to blame but themselves. Bunch of cut throats. Worse than regular drivers.

That is good to know. I am fortunate to live in a city that has a TWIC office. I was told by those who work at that office that they have had people drive all the way from Virginia to get a TWIC. That is several hundred miles. We are required to have a TWIC, yet most who work at these ports are foreigners. Makes a lot of sense. That tells you that this is all about the money.

    Where did i leave off?

    At the terminal....

So i got up wensday morning, sat around till about 12:30 then i got a load. Had to go load some coated pipe going to IL. To the same place I LOADED coated pipe going to TX a month ago :biggrin_25523:. Which is good since there address doesnt exist on Google maps or on a GPS.

Anyhoo so i went to load it, i was told Bring 6, 4x4's and pipe stakes.

So i get there check in and get in line. While in line i got out unstraped my dunnage and started to get out my pipe stakes. Then they come get me, have me skip ahead of 6 trucks to get loaded.

Then they follow me around the trailer pulling out the pipe stakes as im putting them in....:biggrin_2554: Supervisor says "you put chains on and i wont load you....." so I asked how he'd like the pipe stakes secured, he says "dont use them"

So i took all that out for nothing! :biggrin_25523:

Anyway they only put 4 pieces of pipe on my, i have like 10, 4" straps on there (its only 28,000lbs):

Anyhoo I tried to see if i could deliver today, no go they leave at 3, i could have gotten there till 445-5pm....So im at the TA in Effingham, about 45 min to 1 hour south of their. Gonna get there asap and get this stuff off.

I have a pre-plan to pick up a load from KEEN in IL going to a Port in GA.....im going to check on my way to get loaded or before to see if im going to need a TWIC to deliver this lol.

Im hopeing its quick to get unloaded and reloaded tomorrow since its 17.5 +/- hours from KEEN in IL to the port in GA and IF i can get going quick i can get within an hour of the port and reset before mon morn delivery if i cant deliver this weekend.

THEN i have to get a load from GA to NC load it, unload it, then get home by wensday night :yes2557:
