Hard to say; but I know that Halliburton is hiring for a Cement Guy in Bakersfield CA and you got all the qualifications ready too go. You just need to apply online and go through the motions. Though this doesn't help for you immediate situation. You might want to Circle the wagons back in CA... Also don't buy gas in Needles CA at $5 plus a gallon at that Mobile is Heart Break City lol... GL If you want you can use my name just PM me..

Your background sounds almost identical to mine with a few exeptions. I am from North AL, went out to Midland in Jan without a CDL but saw the housing issue then. I came back went to school and got my CLass A with all the endorsements. I am heading to the Job Fair in SA next week, hoping there are some companies there that are interested in a recent grad with no driving exp. I do have 20+ years construction experience that includes operating various pieces of heavy equipment. But just like you OilfieldTrucker1, any info from those in the area would be much appreciated!

Is there a slight lull going on for the past 6-8 weeks? anyone know?
South Texas towns with previous activity during 2011 : Falfurrias, Alice, Freer, Encinal, Carrizo Springs, Pearsall, Dilley, Pleasanton, George West, Cotulla, Catarina....
feel free to add to this list or mention which ones may not truly have much activity. -
I got tired of sitting in North Carolina trying to land a job over the Internet so I packed up my house and moved to San Antonio. Just arrived late this evening and I will not be going back to NC no matter what happens. Either someone is going to give me a chance or I will be going broke here trying. No guts no glory! I've applied to Thomas, Key, Nabors, Maxum from afar and it just wasn't working out.

We took a big hit here in SW Louisiana this week, Shell has been outbidding our lease sites left and right for the past couple of weeks and we have lost about a third of our oil. I'm worried about it, but our terminal manager says we have other work that we've had to slow down on because we were short people so it should work out. I just bought a brand new Harley, shorter paychecks were not part of my plan... Am I worrying for no reason? I drive for Conoco/Phillips, and our refinery is 5 miles from my yard, I'd like to think we are gonna be fine.
Anyone here have experience with Sunoco? If so please shoot me a PM, thanks.
