I was at the TA in Albuquerque, NM last week 3-10-2012 and apparently someone had taken a prybar to my APU cover and damaged the fuel line as well. I didnt piss anyone off that I know of, just had to hit the airhorn to stop a Stevens truck from backing into my of Kenworth. I Do not know if someone was just trying to scrap my cover for aluminum scrap or if they were intending other. Just wanted to put out an FYI

U serious? wow thats a low move. Maybe u woke somebody up.

I'd lean more to the: Crackhead looking for metal to sell for his next hit.
SHC Thanks this. -
This TA has been a bad one for many years. Several years ago they had a couple drivers get robbed in the parking lot. Then a friend of mine parked there last year and realized someone had stolen his tail lights. Lots of drug activity just on the other side of the highway. I would say they were going for the metal.

I wouldn't doubt your API PO'd a sleeping driver. Some of these apu's sound like a neighbor mowing his lawn early on a sat morning when your trying to sleep in. Some are loud as a lawn mower or smog you out like your in LA traffic. I used to move spots when this happened when I was OTR.

Hard tellin these days, for sure, I mainly just wanted to put it out there so other drivers can watch their equipment. Thanks for the feedback.

WatsonDL1 that is one of the reasons I don't stay at T/S's in big cities unless I'm delivering or P/U a load there. I usually stay at the Moriaty,N.M. TA if I have to park for the night in the area.

I do normally, but had a delivery just up the road.

Even if it did, why would someone be gutless and attack the APU? Why not beat on the drivers door and let him know what you think?
I'd be willing to bet it was a druggie, though.... -
Truck stops are nothing but noise, so I think that would be a B.S. deal for someone to do that. If you can't hack the noise get out of the business.
I'd have to agree it sounds like a crack head kind of thing.
I've stayed at the Flying J in Albuquerque a few times and never had problems.
