Friday:
Got to the receiver, got there at 0700 just like they told me, i pull in they say "oh we werent expecting you until monday"Took them 1.25 hours to stand up and walk out side and take 15 min out of there morning to take 4 pieces of pipe off my trailer
After that i headed to the KEEN yard in Aurora, IL. Got there, they sent me to CAT to get loaded (across the st) took them HOURS to put 3 peices on my trailer
14,760lbs, with 5 Chains/Binders, Two 4" straps, One 2" Strap and enough carpet to carpet a hotel room:
Anyway so even though i had been screwed by cat I still had enough of my 14 left to get within 30-45 min of my receiver by sat night to do my reset before delivery.
Well I took US30 out of IL into IN to get around Rush hour Chicago traffic and around the toll road, jumped on I-65 and as always the SB Scale was open and i get pulled in by the Bigest D/B of a COP i've ever met in my life.
Basicly he decided to tell me how to do my job, by going threw the green book, CSA 2010 book, CVSA OOS guidlines, etc explaining to ME how I should be doing MY job. Then after he got about 3/4 way threw my Level 3 inspection he goes in the back office pulls out a bunch of Photo Albums from when he was in the USAF and REFUSED to just finish my inspection until i looked at the pics, then he spent 10 min trying to talk me into joining the USAF
So after the Jack#################### was done with his crap, i had lost another 45 min of my 70/14/11 so now the best i could do was 2 HOURS from the receiver###################################################################
I went to the end of my 14, made it to the TA in Whitestown, IN. Fueled/ parked for 10.
Saturday:
Woke up, and headed south made it 680ish miles south to Bowman, SC. I'm 2 HOURS from my receiver which has a pilot 6 MILES away from it!![]()
I would say screw the reset BUT i wouldnt have allot of hours to work with for Mon, Tues, Wen since last week started slow. And i am suposed to be home sometime Wen night, and im NOT going to get stuck 1 hour away again, so im just going to do my reset here. Oh well, i also get fox here.....but its in SPANISH!!!!!!!WTF!
Miles:
2,487 miles for the week + one 9 Hour Paid by the hour day. Not bad considering how bad the week started and ended

You must love traffic lights route 30 sucks. Next time run down I 57 to Illinois 17 then to Illinois 110 that in Indiana it becomes Indiana 10 to I 65 and you won't have to see you recruiter at the scale.
Glad to see you're doing good and enjoying yourself. -

So this morning i left the TS at 0600 and headed to GA, stopped at the Pilot about 15 min short to have my dock receipt Faxed to me...and CAT hadnt sent it yet, so i sat there for a few hours till LST could get the Dock Receipt and Fax it to me, then i called and Escort (port Escort) and he told me where he would be waiting, as i came down the ramp he was right there, and pulled out onto the road just as i was turning threw the light, and he led the way to the port. He pulls over about 100 yards short of the gate parks his pickup and jumps in my truck. We pull up to the gate, he filled out 99% of the paper work, all i had to do was fill out my info and LST's info.
Then we went to where they wanted to unload me, he helped me take off all my chains/binders/straps/padding and put it all away. Then we sat there for a little bit, then he talked his buddy (the supervisor) into working threw his lunch to unload me. The escort works at the port loading and unloading the container ships, he has a side biz escorting trucks into the port so he knows every one that works there.
his services cost $75
Then i came back to the pilot to wait for a load, been here ever since. I had a feeling getting home would cause load problems since i no longer work for a company with a huge terminal near my house, but im not complaining ive busted my butt the last 5-6 weeks and am ready to go home for a bit.
while sitting here for most of the day, i met a flatbedder, seemed like a normal guy O/O been driving since 1976, then he got to his US Marshal stories. So yep another crazy trucker out here.
There is a car hauler here, he's backed INTO the woods, with two cars parked in front of him.....1 with a License plate one without (looks like it belongs on his trailer....He's a skinny old guy with a flattop 379, and he has TWO VERY LARGE woman in there with him...not idleing, all day, at 100* outside.....See:
i just came out from takeing a shower, and since i burned up all my credits while reseting this weekend, i had to stand in line to pay for one. As i walked up to the register theres a guy leaning over the counter.....cashier was bending over looking for something. Then i hear his voice......I know that voice......Yep, sure enough he turns around and BAM its this guy Darius i went to Truck driving school with 4 YEARS ago in March 2008, which is funny because i was just thinking about that since my 4 year anniversary of when i started my driving career is March 28th.
It really is crazy, out of the MILLIONS of miles of roads in the US and Canada, the MILLIONS of truck drivers in this country, and the 475,000+ trucking companies out here, i keep running into people i know from YouTube, Facebook, This Forum, Truck driving school, etc all over the country.
Im not sure what tomorrow will bring, im assumeing it will be a short load to NC if they can find one or they'll just have me deadhead home again (i only live 4 hours 240 miles from here)
American Truckeralex94, Wedge, AZS and 1 other person Thank this.
