    Warrior Cat you make it what you want. I'm no company person (actually management sucks in ATT) You won't find benefits like here. Plus most lazy fat truck drivers cant do this job. It takes some hard work when you undeck. If you prefer hanging out in industrial areas, sleeping in a truck, and showering in truck stops then this job isnt for you. I'll never have to hear the words "shower number 100 is now ready" If you only made 20 grand in six months it's your fault

    It takes a year to learn the system. If you quit in six months and don't make but 20 grand, its your fault. There is a lot of the company that really sucks. but as I said before I wont do anything else that is OTR.

    Wishing I had found this board and thread long ago. Implying that only fat slob wheel holders would fail at ATT was worn out before you even began to type my friend. I, too, am about to leave and for many of the same reasons already mentioned. I'm to the point I feel I have to carry a sidearm for personal protection due to too many 'people'(?) making animalistic, grunting noises and calling everyone they don't like a racist, lazy, troublemaker, etc.

    I went through two trainers before I finally found one who was honest, clean living, with personal integrity and actually knew the job. He has stated his best year was also $50k and he only goes home about once a month, if that. Thinking I'll go back to local and regional steel hauling where I was home most nights and $50k to $60k was the norm - benefits not as good as at ATT though.

    I've found the people at Cleveland and Portland the most helpful with San Antonio and Mt Holly little more than ghettos. The hotel situation in San Antonio is strange too. The nicer of the two hotels we are allowed to use rarely has rooms available until you go to the speedway property and see the same people always getting on the same vans for the nicer hotel although they stated over the phone that no rooms are available.

    The rest of us have to go to the ghetto hotel for some reason. I probably shouldn't use the term 'ghetto' as very few Blacks from ATT seem to go there anyway but I think everyone knows what I mean. I'm came to the point long ago that I just fly in and try to leave with a load the same day but this is impossible most of the time due to 'trucks in transit', 'dispatch delay' for unknown reasons, etc.

    I had to find out for myself and the rest of you so willing can find out for yourself; I've had enough. I'm far from a fat, lazy 'wheel holder' too but there are plenty at ATT LOL!!!

    I agree with what you said custom thunder and if you were home like you said I would have told you not told you not to leave for ATT. I stay at the ghetto hotel to get away from the bunch that stays at the other hotel. I have a lot of issues with the people you reference but I just stay away from them. I would tell anyone if you are content at your job don't leave and go to ATT. The benefits keep me at ATT now. I've had to have to surgeries in the last two years and with the combination of my benefits and my wifes I've had no out-of-pocket expenses. I just won't use truck stop showers anymore. I guess because I've never been late with a load and keep quiet and don't stir up crap they leave me alone. I became very ill a couple weeks ago in San Antonio and they put me that day on a direct flight home and I was it to see my doctor the next day. I'm an older Cleveland driver and if the tried to force me to San Antonio I'd probably quit. I wish you luck and if you ever could PM me I'd let you know who I am and would help you any way I could.

    One more thing, I've never been called a lazy, racist trouble maker. The big problem is they are basing all the new people out of San Antonio and I feel for all of them. If I was based there I wouldn't last long either. Good Luck

    So if I can sum it up in one statement, if I do my job, don't cause any trouble and deliver on time, don't question why, I should be all right at att?

    Except for the question why, you can question why because after 90 days you are in the union and it is very difficult to get fired. I question why all the time but because I do the other things they tolerate and don't say much when I question why. I've trained three people so far and all have had good things to say about the way I train. I won't take anymore than one person at a time.
