It is one of the reasons that I have to buy my morning soda from a store. My cooler is shut off at night because I don't idle the truck. I just don't want the hassle. I believe I have not idled one night this year so far.

Last year was one night I gave up in Baton Rouge in a thunderstorm and ran AC.

Better not come to Canada this winter, you may have to idle during the night!

Their answer is...Get bigger batterys or an APU.
    Don't carry perishable foods.
Don't save yourselves any money buy stocking up on non-restaurant food.
Don't prepare for extended hours stuck someplace on the road.

They'll give you every excuse to not idle but they'll never ask themselves the real question.

Is any of this really necessary?

    I say NO!
CARB is a travesty to the trucking industry in general.
For the individual driver it's inhumane & totally unsafe.

It's all based on VooDoo science & not worth the paper it's written on.

That includes my Canada runs. I run there in the winter and still do not idle unless it gets below zero.

No, I just hate to pay for the fuel. But I sleep in a mountain bag in the winter.
