hey theres that comment again! anyway zooming out and looking at where its sending you as you get close to the destination is a requirement with the rand. The shortest and fastest route is not good for side streets.
Which GPS is better, Rand McNally 710 or Garmin Dezl 560?

A few times, for several hours at a time, my rand was telling me that I was about an 1/8 mile off the expressway! It kept telling me "TOO FAST" since it thought I was doing 62 on a residential 25mph street...
Another time it was off just a little. It thought I was on the other side of the expressway and going in the wrong direction!!! Hahahahahaaa.; It kept telling me to exit or u-turn as soon as possible and safe.

The computer correctly tells you it is a no-truck street. But your truck is allowed to drive on that street... Your situation bypasses the purpose of a truck specific GPS. The machine is working properly.

I have the Garmin 465T it can be used for Trucking or Car and I have never had any problems with it trying to take me down the wrong street or on weight restricted roads or under a low bridge. It has always taken me to where I need to go for pick ups and deliveries. I always look at the Atlas and compare which seems to be the better routes to take. I also purchased the Lifetime Map Update for it when I bought it I have had it for 2 and a half years and it seems to come out with a new map update every 2 or 3 months. It came with free FM Traffic Update notifications which has come in handy quite a few times due to a back up or accident. I also keep the NTTS (National Truck and Trailer Services) subscription updated on it.

Then you asked here, "what is the purpose of buying a truck GPS?"
The source of the confusion is clear. I don't want to start an argument or anything, so I will bow out of this conversation.
