I called Louie about 2pm yesterday to let him know I would be done in Pittston around 9pm. In his best comedic response he told me how happy he was for me. That got a chuckle out of me. He said nothing was happening until Thursday and to see him in the morning. About 30 minutes later I was getting fuel in Raphine VA. After getting back in the truck I got a message on the peoplenet to give him a call.
I've worked with Louie long enough to know that when he say's no freight at first, that means I'll call you back soon. I've been at the window upstairs in dispatch, been told to check back after lunch and by the time I make it down the stairs my phone would ring with Louie on the other end offering me a load.
When I called him back he asked me if I wanted to go west. I said sure, and as he was giving me the particulars about the load it came over the computer. I've done this load a few times before. First pick up in Kirkwood NY, then come back down to Pittston to finish out. I have 2 drops in Reno on Monday, they are literally across the street from each other, so close to each other you don't need to close your trailer doors. I'll be done by 8am and starting my reset.
I have no write ups on my truck, it just needs a service. I should be done before lunch and on my way to Kirkwood NY. I'll be done in Pittston by 6pm and head west. I plan on getting to Youngstown tonight then have an easy trip the rest of the way.

Sitting in Sparks NV 5 miles to both my drops. Louie called me Friday to tell me to be in Bakersfield ready to load Wednesday after my reset is done. I have just enough hours on my 70 to get there tomorrow night.

The exciting part of my day today was when I took my 3 load locks down, cleaned them with rust remover, oiled the tracks with 3 in 1 oil and cleaned them all up. They now look and work like brand new.
How did you like that message from "Unknown" today?
