    Sure

Although my opinion doesn't count because I'm an amateur. I got my DOT knowledge when a radioactive green and white spider bit me.

I have been trying the split 10 hours but it don't seem to work right or my quacomm is picky. I split my 10 hrs start first with the 8 hrs. I started driving when I had 7 hrs and 54 min then drove stop and rest for my 2 hrs but lo and behold I had to wait 10 hrs. I was told that I start 6 minutes to soon on my 8 hrs but according to you it is 7 hrs 45 mins would be fine. what is the deal I am get really frustrated and always late because I am trying to figure this darn logging thing :biggrin_25513:

The 8 hour break needs to be on line 2 (sleeper) continuously.

The 2 hours counts on the hours available after splitting a 14 with 8 sleeper . If you worked 8 , took 8 sleeper , you had 6 remaining . If you worked 2 then took 2 sleeper , that's 4 and you would only have 2 left .

E-logs. Down to the minute, my man. You've got to let that thing click over to 8h00m and then you can go. No fudging.

It's really not that hard. You only got left what you haven't used as far as driving. If you drove 5 hours before your 2 hour or 8 hour sleeper break then you have 6 hours of driving left. If you are running e-logs like I am you don't need to think at all just put yourself on that sleeper birth for at least two hours or 8 and the computer will do the rest. It knows all, lol.

I bet you logged the 8 hr break as off duty or any part of that 8 hr break as off duty will interrupt the 8 hr break.
It must be 8 hrs in the sleeper, to the minute to split break.

Make sure you always read your summary tab before driving to make sure it shows the hours you feel it should.

I have a thread in here on split breaking, it's tagged as a favorite or important in regulations at the top. o e-logs
