Yeah it sounds a lot like the military. But the military pretty awesome to me so I think I'll be okay. No skeletons in my closet. Any tips on what to pack other then what was on the packing list?

Im still considering TMC if the local job Im trying to get falls through. I was pre-hired in November and I talked to Gus about driving for them but I was still in college so I told I would get back in touch with him after I graduated college. He thought I was nuts for wanting to drive a truck with a college degree but owell. My biggest concern with them is that I did not go to a driving school to get my CDL I just used a friend of mines dump truck and trailer and went and got it and that I have NEVER double clutched a gear in my life I was taught to float gears so thats what I have always done so I do not want to be sent home because I dont use the clutch to shift gears. Im not worried about lifting a 120 pound trap from the ground to my shoulder then onto a trap Im 5'10 215lbs and I load and off load trucks all day long now so I think I have that part in the bag. I also have my HAZMAT and Passport already done so all I need now is my TWIC card and Im set.

Also I finally seen a TMC truck making a delivery in my home town I usually jsut see them rolling down I-12, I-55, or I-10.

Ex88m, yes I know where Nebo is. Thats probably 2 hours n/east of me. I'm just a little south of Asheville. I'm sure you'll drive up and down Old Fort mountain on I-40.
Theres a pretty good size truck stop right there at hwy 221 off I40. I think its a Loves? Good luck and keep us posted.

Time Keeper, never mind my question. I already heard the answer from TMC. I wont be the one to tell the public what happened.

I would bring a hoodie or some other light jacket. Ex88m is right, they keep the air condition thumping in the classroom. I guess to prevent students from drifting off to sleep. If your a smoker bring lots of smokes. I heard they were crazy expensive here. $9.00 a pack? Other than that, bring your best behavier and attitude. This is a great place and learning expierence. However, I really do believe that if you upset the wrong people, they will send you home, no matter how good you think you are. Act like a soldier, NOT A PRIVATE, and you will be fine.

Lol... It's never good to act like a private! I'll try to act like the nco that I was. I don't smoke so I'm not worried about that but I was curious about the cost of food at the hospitality center for breakfast and dinner? From what I've read the lunches are legendary! I should be there around early afternoon on sunday.

Breakfast, I heard was like $3.00 something. I dont eat breakfast as soon as I get up. I have to wait a couple hrs after getting up. So, I havent been eating breakfast. Lunch is provided. Dinner at the Chrome Cafe, I'm told is very fair deal. I have yet to step foot in there. When we went to Walmart on Tuesday, I bought food. I have eaten all but 1 meal in my room since I have been here.
As for your bus ride, I hope it goes better than mine. Greyhound double booked the ride from St. Louis. I had a 13 hr layover. Everybody got to DesMoines on Sunday evening, around 2000 hrs. I arrived Monday right at 0600. The motel put me in a room so I could change clothes and shower, then straight on TMC bus to class. Even TMC bus is black and chrome. I have no complaints at all about this place.
You'd be supprised at the people that act like privates. Funny how they are the same ones that were sent home.
The lunches are Army chow type. Everybody is friendly, no complaints. I cant stress enough that you are on a 2week interview. Just behave, shave in the mornings, wear clean clothes, etc.....

Oh, and watch your language while in public. Thats one is very important. The motel will give you a packet of do's and dont's to read. READ IT!! I wouldnt test TMC on their policies of students in training. But, thats just me.
