Just asking a general routing question for a friend of mine that just got a 510. I do not have access to his version or serial #'s or anything at the moment.

He planned a route from Walford IA to, Hearst ON. He either started the trip on US 151 in Walford (center of town) or at the Just Diesel Truck stop at xit 13 on I380 in Cedar Rapids. Things went well until he got into Minn/St.Paul area. Instead of taking him thru the twin cities and continuing up I-35 towards Duluth he said it took him across to Eau Clare WI and up US53 to Duluth. I am only asking as I don't know when I'll see him to get my little paws on it and replicate the trip.

It's probably not the best way to ask without his settings info but I promised him i would ask here if he decided to buy a TND and had any problems. He said to mention the time he came into Minn/St. Paul was at 5-6pm don't know if this would affect it at all.

Hi Mark,
I've been back and forth with you about this and have a question. If I were to copy the drivers from my Home PC and try to manually install them on my Laptop in order for it to see the GPS unit, do you think it will work? I found out that my laptop thinks my unit(s) are USB host controllers instead of mass storage devices which would be the problem. (driver details. hardware ID. parent.) That being the case it refuses to look for any other drivers besides those that match.

I have a Samsung r780 i5 3400 chipset

I know you said its a Windows 7 thing but I just CANT let it go..... hehe

I'm willing to install a different OS if I have to. (I have lots)

I wonder if Windows 8 might have addressed this.....

Well, I'm taking the plunge...but only into the shallow end of the GPS pool.

I ordered a refurbed 500...figure if it doesn't do what I want it to, I'll give it to my wife for her personal vehicle and I'll get the 510.

Just too much going on right now for me to drop three-plus bills for a GPS, so $140 sounded more to my liking.

 

Can I use a SDHC card with my TND 710?

 

hey Mark when is the update (from the new dock) going to be turned back on?
