Thats great shaggy i just came out of there today with a load going to Albany GA for del on sun d/h. Right now am in KY at a Loves off of I24. Got also preplan to pu at covington ga going to walmart dc in brooksville fl. was not able to get a load yesterday but i take the good with the bad and embrace it. I know for a fact these days will happend as well as the better days.
-
Heading to Arcadia now. Deliver this about 10:00 and head home . Already got my preplan for Monday morning. Picking up in Sebring heading for Stone Mountain, GA Tuesday a.m. 600 mile run to start the week.
-
My first week was slow as well. I've noticed the miles slowly increasing as I'm getting familiar with the logging and my DM is getting familiar with my abilities. Now im running all my hours out with my driving and getting good miles in.
-
Mines are slow but as u said i know they will increase eventually. By the way now your not rhe newbie since i am the new kid on the block lol. Got a pu in covington ga going to brooksville fl. I got 27 hrs left as of now. Resting in a pilot in albany ga
-
I have 13 hrs left. Just enough to make it into Missouri Sunday night. I will gain enough Monday for short load and then a full 10 Tuesday. Trying to make Lufkin to park for the night and run last 8 hrs tomorrow non stop if possible. Then I can do my d/h early Monday.
Nice 1000 mile run over the weekend. Includes deadhead.

That is not bad at all i started my wk tue so i dont think i am going to be able to gain any hrs back unless i do a reset. If any of you guys have a del to albany ga and happend to be early around here give the consignee a call they allow u to take your load early. My del was not until sun and i call they said ok to bring it so that helped with my hrs as well

My goal is 2000 miles per week to make my bills and so far, I've gotten that each week except orientation week. I can't complain. All the extra goes straight into my wife's coffers for her tuition and such. I've exceeded that amount so I can't complain.
I parked around a dozen or so Crete drivers telling me about all the money their making, yet only one looked like he showered and the others were complaining about all the sitting they have been doing. I listened and the moment I said I didn't drive for Crete, they all changed their tune and tried to recruit me with their cards and hoe they all do $55k or more. They sure didn't look it. My rate is the same as their reefer division offered.
Point is, everyone is having problems. Difference is my miles so far are consistent, I'm home weekly, and I'm fairly happy with the carrier. There are ups and downs, but that is every company, non trucking as well.
I just found it amusing how they all flip flopped. The drivers on this thread state how it is. No sugar coating or dreams. We tell about our good days and our bad. Thanks for doing that for me and others.
Ok, off my podium now.anj8488 Thanks this. -
Well said shaggy. I've been accused of lying about being a driver. Then been accused of sugar coating my experience and being a driver recruiter. I don't sugar coat anything at all and i've backed up everything with photo proof. This forum gets easily discouraged about carriers because disgruntled employees are allowed to come on here and trash them. People would rather listen to a bad review as opposed to good ones.
Well, side note. My Sebring load canceled. Got me heading to Ocala for pendergrass GA for 7am. -
I'm still trying to make delivery. Ran out of hrs,, three hrs away. Lol. They ran me all the way out of my 70. I gained hrs at midnight and will roll on up and drop this here shortly. Not preplanned yet. Figured I'll call when closer and after DM has lunch. I know Monday mornings are hectic dealing with weekend issues and he'll be relaxed then.
