It would be hard to beat that!
-
How did he not see the truck? What an idiot.
-
they were probably texting on there cell phone.
hard to see inside the windows -
In the U.S..... that's what's known as an avoidable accident.
Sucks to be an American truck driver.
The 4 wheeler would have gotten a ticket. The truck driver would have been hit on his DAC and his CSA. -
-
That's Australia loos like the US even the signs looked the same. But you guys know it's always the truckers fault.
-
Wasn't referring to blame. Was referring to the term "avoidable".
If a driver is looking out the front window (like the camera was), he can clearly see the car starting to come over, before impact.
Therefore, he should have avoided by braking hard. Hence, the "avoidable" that would be placed on his DAC. -
Ok wait. I have video from a driver 2 days ago showing almost exactly the same thing here. A car cut directly in front of him from the right lane without a turn signal in heavy traffic and it was so close that he didn't notice it beneath the hood for several seconds. In your experience this would still go on your DAC even if the driver did nothing wrong and has it all on video???
"Avoidable?" It looked rather unavoidable to me. But I am seeking clarification if anyone here has first-hand experience with the same type of accident. -
The video clearly shows a couple of seconds the driver had to respond before impact.
If the driver says he didn't see or notice. Then the driver could be deemed distracted.
One of our safety videos shows an almost identical type scenario. And labels it as avoidable.lonewolf4ad and Dieselboss Thank this.
