They absolutely do to. Maybe not in a hand full of yards but the majority of their yards while hire someone without a cdl and teach them to drive and pay a decent wage while they do it!!! Please do not spread misinformationlike that. There's men on this forum who have left everything behind to come find jobs in the oilfield. The last thing they need is someone wasting their time with wrong info!!
Need work? South Texas Oilfield hiring like crazy!

Do they hire owner operators with full units?
Example Kenworth w900l with vac pump mounted on truck and 170bl aluminium tank? and what kind of rates are we looking at? -
Wishing you guys that are there looking success in your search. I just finished my CDL course on 3/23 & waiting for Hazmat to clear. I will be flying to TX on 4/17 to begin my search in south TX...will be there for about a week looking before coming back to FL- hopefully to tie up loose ends and start working some long hrs. Hope to get hired on like you guys. Will be following the thread to see how things pan out. Good luck!

I have been digging for this information, pay is really good and many places are taking anyone with Class-A C.D.L. & clean chem screen
@Hutislnd -- Midland / Odessa has adverts in the paper + Karnes County is good
@rkwilsonjr86 - money is good and most want anything that will get it there
@jvar4001 - if one does not another one will
@me99 -- welcome to the web, which is named that for a reason
@fin77 -- laws are likely consistent across state so some push somewhere -
There is work all over this area, I left Tucson Sunday for Andrews TX with a hint of having a job here. Along the way I stopped in Pecos and talked to a couple drivers out of Odessa which gave my there boss's # said they were hiring so for chits and giggles called and both wanted to see me.Stopped in the next town (Monahans) sign said hiring CDL drivers stopped and got an app. there he said they needed help.Went on to Odessa hit the Loves for a shower and drove the 40 miles up here and met with said co. this am. and start work on thur. 1st week 6 days on second week is 5 if you don't want the 6@ $20 hr. days $21 hr. nites working 12 hr. days. time and 1/2 after 40 and they guarantee you at least the 40. I do have 1.5 years OTR. but most here hire new guys also but for a liter wage to start. This is hauling water in Vac. trucks in and out of the wells.I don't care to live in such a populated area as Odessa Midland so I think this will suit me just fine.So ya there's work out here for 1's that want to work.if you won't do the hours I hear you won't last long with some of the co's. will chime in again later.

You can wait till you get a job over the phone or internet; which is most likely the slowest way right now and works best for you in your current financial situation.
I suggest you concentrate on making $400 between now and then. That should be enough for the 6 hour trip there and back and 48hrs to make it happen.... The cost of the gas shouldn't be more then $160 there and back even for a 6cly..
If you get a job you got a couple hundred to eat while you work and live in the camper while hiding out and parking at places. I reccomend a church parking lot; talk with them and offer $50 to park at night only for a couple weeks. Till you get a check; they will be glad to help you out... Just have faith and come up with ideas...
You will make it with the right attitude and a little money... -
I am working on pulling the classified ads for small-town papers and can write a type of computer-code that can pull them as I have seen them for Karnes County + Midland / Odessa ~ good and strong as we speak, the most serious issue is parking without S.I.P.P. [ sleeping in public places ] so my plan there is to approach with disclosure that I would need to be able to park "behind the trees" for awhile and just work it till I find a company that has a yard where I could get away for that for beyond first 2-3 checks as I can tank 35 gallons of water since I often live that way anyway -
