IDK....to me a person that would have a disabled card would probably not pass a DOT physical.
It's just alot of folks I see using these spots look perfectly fine and it causes me to think they stole their grandmothers disabled card and put in the windshield just so they can have reserved parking at a truck stop.
Beware of this truck stop menace (it's nation-wide!)

I can walk about 50-100 feet normally and then it's like a knife gets shoved in my lower spine and the pain runs down my legs. If it wasn't for my other health problems I'd be back out there driving dealing with it. I never thought about handicapped parking before and have a new found respect for them. They don't hand out handicap placards to anyone. A doctor has to sign the form first.
Don't judge a book by the cover. You might be one of them one day. It's not fun.Emulsified Thanks this. -
It's like a flash mob! -
One day last year, I needed to use the bathroom so I stopped at a rest area. There was a lady inside with a gallon of paint in one hand, and a brush in the other.
She told me that all of the stalls still had wet paint, and to be very careful. She then exited the restroom so I could use it.
After finishing up, I headed back outside only to see two big yellow school buses pulling into the rest area. I told the lady who was sitting on a bench waiting for me to come out. Hey look LOL. Those two buses were packed FULL of pre school kids. Ill bet there was close to 100 kids
That lady (and she was a nice older lady) spoke a four letter word that started with the letter F, and im quite sure she hadn't used that word more than a couple of times in her entire life.
She looked at me with panic in her eyes. Kinda like "what do I do". I told her, lady if I was you, Id get the hell out of here. This is not gonna end well. I don't know if she left or not, but I was dang near on the floor laughing.
Ultimately I didnt stick around to see the ensuing mayhem. Im sure it wasnt pretty, and im quite sure those pre school teachers caught a glimpse of what hell actually looks like on that day.VisionLogistics, CondoCruiser, 1nonly and 3 others Thank this. -

Alot of co.s are too cheap to get ya a rental car now, when you start with them. You get a greyhound ticket, everyone knows how much fun a bus ride is right. If I hit a truckstop when a bus is there, I look at it like poor timing on my part. If the burger king is packed, get a sandwhich out of the cooler. You loose alot more time at the fuel island in a week, than a bus in a week. Driving at night is much better, the goof balls during the day can cost ya alot of time at a truck stop.

Night driving is my favorite time. Turn on some music, or coast to coast AM and mash that pedal. One drawback is the abundance of game on the road. I run the outskirts of Yellowstone park, and have hit elk, deer, and even a moose. Apparently they didn't get the memo that I installed those plastic deer whistles. -
Got invaded by the entire school high school sports teams ( four dadgum buses) and well those of us that had been enjoying decent conversation about things that truckers talk about, we heard this rumble coming through the batwing doors there, and gave the waitress one look, she suddenly had to go out to her car to get something other....
