WHy are cabover so expensive?

#### that sucks. But there are plenty more trucks out there....you could even pic up an older COE and have a rebuild and just about all new everything for $32k if you have that cash available.

The company selling this Argosy is just up the road from us. I'm always on the hunt for a good one. There are a lot of buyers for them in SoCal for a couple of reasons:
1. They are great for export because of the length and price. They cut them in half and ship them as "parts" then weld them back together south of the border.
2. CARB has an exemption in it for any 57' trailer with a COE. It's exempt from CARB rules. (Tell me Dirksen doesn't have lobbying power in this state!)
3. The movie industry LOVES COEs for their equipment trucks. They make them straight trucks with equipment boxes and 50KW generators on them.

I was at a used truck place in Fontana on Saturday to look around as they always have a ton of COEs. They must have had 35 or more of them. Mostly Internationals this week. One other great source for Argosy's is Canada. You'll see them as late model as 2006 or 2007 up there.

 

CenturyTruck.com. They don't list them on the website or truck paper but if you call the owner (think his name is Bill), they can tell you what they have.

 

Cabovers are in high demand in California for many operations for length reasons. You can upgrade it to meet CARB laws for not much money at all. Being a 2000, you still have a few years on it before a upgrade. Alot of glider kit cabovers come out of Frieghtliner in Lathrop CA with CARB engines.
