Kevin Rutherford? Good info or not?

Hey HighSides, long time no see. How the heck are ya?

I actually like Kevin. I have learned a lot about trucks here and there from listening to his show. His brain really does contain a lot of useful knowledge and that part I respect.

However, I take much of what he says with a grain of salt. He is a businessman and his number 1 goal is to make money. He is "for hire"

Yeah, the turbo3000 is in the running for one of the largest scams ever perpetuated on the trucker. But, I "get it" he's in business to make money. Those guys pay him money to sell his product, so he does. Just as a prostitute does what they do.

I figured out long ago to separate his business venture bs from his actual knowledge. And Im doing just fine listening to him, its actually kinda funny. I just kinda roll my eyes and laugh a little when I her him introduce a new product. My first thought is, its just more snake oil. Actually, its probably made me a little smarter. These days I tend to question the validity of ever new product that's introduced into our market.

 

I couldn't "pencil-in" rebuilding that 379...And that engine is now banned at the ports....And as far as going "Glider".....
You know the CARB Nazis in Cali won't allow that....An '06 Re-man in a '12 Glider....Illegal!!!!

 

But it is sure nice if you can get at least 7 mpg....

Is it me or does seem like when fuel gets higher...The mileage gets a little lower between fill-ups....

You pretty much summed up my views about him in describing your own. He does have good solid business principals that any o/o should follow, but he showed his hand when it came to product endorsements with the turbo 3000.

 

You could always move back to America.......

But I do remember your reason for staying there. How long till she can retire????

Well yeah the better the fuel mileage the better the pay check!!!

What's your definition of "retirement"?....

My FIL retired over ten years ago and works more now than he did before he retired...Between running his Lodge and his woodworking projects...He never sits down....

 

To the point where her job don't hold you from moving to America...

 

Oh believe me...There is a 40 acre spread near Cedar City, UT I always point out to her as "Home".....

I gotta thank the individual for emailing me this link about Kevin Rutherford aka con man. The idea of of Rutherford debating him on HIS radio program is laughable, talk about home court advantage. Rutherford is clueless on how to generate trucking revenue. He believes that stepping over dollar bills and only picking up pennies is the only way to make money.
