Lived in CA and ran rockies for years. They make you throw iron in CA at what seems like a light frost. I hope they never had issues.

Sorry, didn't intend to leave you out.

Now, still haven't heard you mention any real world experience. My understanding is that you are a grease monkey. Did I miss something?

Welcome, must have found us from the post by Dice asking people to come over here to support KR. Hope you decided to stick around a while. And don't worry, no problems with disagreeing but they have chased off Flinestone and his like long ago.

KR provides some good information on the business of running a truck. But this is the information that should be learned BEFORE buying a truck. But sadly many have bought a job and come around to learning the business after the fact.

And what is sad, is that he has a forum that could help shed more light on many aspects of trucking but the likes of Flinestone make the sight almost worthless.

But luck we have TTR to share ideas and take our business to the next level.

We run LRR tire's and haven't had any problems in winter weather.Every year the new trucks are ordered with the latest. Changed out once before traded with the newest. About 60/40 SS on trailers. Always looking at lower ones to improve our score.

Yeah, thats a little too hot. When the coolant system is sealed it begins to build pressure, that pressure continues to raise as it gains heat. The more heat the more pressure. Both heat and pressure will seek the flaws and weak spots, and thats hard on seals and gaskets. Im guessing thats where the failures came from.

I run up and down the west coast. Up and down US97. No chains on that mountain road very often. Last 4 weeks straight it was snow packed with ice for 100 plus miles, up and down hills. No problem with low RR tires in the snow with no chains. I personaly would not have Super Singals, but have friends that do run them on the same mountain roads i use. They say they have no problems. But low RR tires don't make a difference on snowpacked highways. Mabey in off road operations, but not roads that are plowed.

The new trucks and trailers come with whatever the factory sells cheapest at the time and then switched out when they arrive. The west coast trucks use XZA2, the one's that do the LTL's into the Philly area, those use 305 fuel max. They take more abuse bouncing over curbs ect. The trailers that run there also use a heavier tire. SS are XoneXTA,the duals are HTR2. No SS on the tractors untill they come up with a PSI system. The trailers have PSI(except a few old ones) I buy 8-10 truck and trailer tires at a time so i may be running some earlier tires before they get changed over.
