I posted this on an older form, but think this is a more relevant place for it.

I would not worry too much about the 90 days as you had to sign a letter of terminating your position as a company employee before you entered into the lease.

I just terminated my scam lease with Transam Leasing and was informed that if I was due anything it would be mailed to me in 2-3 weeks. I seriously doubt that I will see any of the $2,000.00 they owe me for my last 2 weeks.

I am looking for an attorney to initiate a suite against Transam Leasing. If there is an attorney that is working on or willing to start a class action suite please contact me.

I actually did ok compared to most, but this lease is sold as a own your own business, but it is impossible to be an actual business as you cannot make more that simple wages. I worked for TA for 7 weeks and averaged $13.00 an hour if I get my last 2 checks. There was no profit just wages, so this does not meet the criteria for a business as the definition
(A business (also known as enterprise or firm) is an organization engaged in the trade of goods, services, or both to consumers.[1] Businesses are predominant in capitalist economies, where most of them are privately owned and administered to earn profit to increase the wealth of their owners. Businesses may also be not-for-profit or state-owned. A business owned by multiple individuals may be referred to as a company, although that term also has a more precise meaning.)
as only wages were made and no profit was generated.

I did everything that I was told in training to be succesfull, but I had no control over the miles given. I averaged 2600 miles a week, but that is not enough to make it with a Transam Leasing lease. They will blow smoke up your arse that you will get 2800-3200 miles a week, but it just will not happen.

If you are a new driver stay far away from TA. There are other very reputable companies out there, but TA is not one of them. If you do go with TA only go company. There is only a financial advantage to TA if you lease as you will save them over 30% in cost as apposed to them paying a company driver.

    Congratulations BBP!
You've won the prize for offering the worst advice, --- to this point.
But, be of good cheer,...... I doubt anyone will top your idea.

First of all, as a leased Big truck truck driver, it's the leased driver's insurance carrier that would take the hit, --- not the Big truck truckin' company's.
Taking your advice, "home", most likely, would be a cell with steel bars for a door and no window. Either that, or a mental hospital for evaluation to determine why you did, and if you'll ever, go postal again. Try finding any descent job with that on your record.

If it were me, I'd be inclined to have a magnetic sign made to order to stick somewhere on the Big truck that's highly visible. On that magnetic sign, would be written in BOLD font:

    ASK ME ABOUT TRANS AM'S
    LEASE PROGRAM

Leave that magnetic sign on the door, or where ever it can be easily seen and read, --- even, and especially, when you're at any of their terminals. If the sight of that sign combined with what the powers that be Trans Am know that you know about their lease/flease adventure, doesn't cause 'em to worry, --- I don't know what would.

If asked, you could claim that you're just tryin' to recruit others to switch to Trans Am. Act surprised at their concern and ask 'em what could you possibly tell others about their fabulous lease adventure that would cause those who ask to avoid Trans Am like the plague. No doubt they'd know, and they'd know that you know too.
Empathize how honest and completely truthful you are.
    They can't handle the truth.
The last thing Trans Am wants is one of their leased drivers to go tellin' folks the truth about the adventure they'll be stuck with, ..... and can't get out of, if they sign the dotted line.

To be completely honest here, I thought, for a minute there, I was readin' another one of the many threads that bring to light the unethical business practices perpetrated upon naive, unknowing, inexperienced, starry-eyed newBees and those with job-hoppin' experience, by the Sons-0-Chester over thar at C.R. England. Same complaints, --- exactly.
If one wasn't bad enough, --- now there are copy-cats usin' C.R.E.'s business plan to scam unsuspecting job seekers into swallowing the bait, ..... complete with hook, line and sinker.
The key word in the sentence before this one is, "SINKer".

It sounds like Trans Am will be giving C.R.E. a run for their money luring gullible newBees into their web. I'm appalled, but not really surprised. C.R.E. makes bank using their master plan. Imitation is the most sincere form of flattery, ..... they say. I say it ain't 'bout the flattery at all.
    NopE!
    It's the money.
Big truck truckin' companies are in business for one reason, --- and it ain't relocatin' freight.
    It's turnin' a profit.
They all just move freight as a side job.
Anyone here think that if they could turn a profit without movin' freight that they would even bother with freight?
Leased drivers absorb ALL of the added responsibilities.
The management would like to thank y'all for relieving them of the burdensome cost(s) of maintaining a Big truck.

    Big truck truckin' company motto:

If There's Money To Be Lost
Let It Be The Leased Drivers Who
    Lose It.

    Long Live The Company
    At ANY Cost
    To Others.

You just proved that you were a business...the fine print may have stated "not for profit" and you missed it.

Im not sure why he has not got miles, Im a TA lease driver, Last year I avg 3180 miles a week total for the year. I brought home great money after all expense's, I know most will think I am just blowing smoke up ur arse. But im not, I dont have a problem with TA. If your trained right and knowledgeable about the industry then you would do great. Its a business and nothing is perfect, Like now im broke down for 2-3 days but it will always happen. The key is attitude, Extreame trip planning (esp now with e-logs coming in at TA), Dont exceed 60 mph, get at least 7mpg's. I may suggest you could talk to Penny over the DM's, Tell her the situation and she will help. I know your probley upset about the whole thing but I would be glad to help if you would like.

I don't know about the 3100 mi/week average, but I just had my first fill up to fill up period. I signed for the truck at half tank and up until now had only been putting in small packets of fuel here and there based on what I thought I would need for that run only. So this is the average of multiple runs over several ranges of weight.

    3,338 miles/460.295 = 7.25 miles per gallon

    Hand calculated.

Yesterday the display said I never broke 6.2 mpg, but I was fighting some cross wind. Some places like Saint Louis also bring down the average on my display. On the other hand, I witnessed the display hit 10.00 mpg driving empty to my pick up at 58 mph.

I tend to place the cruise control on 58 mph unless I'm pressed for time, then I have no problems driving 65 to 68. If 7 mpg isn't enough to get your fuel purchases balanced out with your surcharge, then I don't know what is.

LOL the idea isnt to actually run the cars over, but only to make the lease owner think you will. They will break the lease to get you away from them.

well i cant say anything bad about transam i do believe all these people with thier horror stories and i have been here just a very short while. I can say that prior driving experience albeit 30 years ago and having owned my own buisness for thirty years has helped. I have gotten my first 3 checks from Transam all over $1000 before this I was collecting $225 a week so i am happy
