Hey bigbadbill. Here is what I learned fron kr on tires. I went to buy drive tires and the salesman wanted to sell me a brigestone EL drive tire. RR was 145. Nope I got the M720's instead and knowing where I run I wanted the aggressive tread.

Anyone who blindly follows anyones advice, even an "experts" advice deserve what they get.

Agree 100%. That is what education if for.

Here is what I learned from KR. That I will be fine with 14-ply steers tires when I am running 13K on them during harvest. I decided to listen to all the farmers that have been doing this for years and going with a 16-ply that will run at 120 PSI during harvest.

I think the M720 is one of the best duels on the market. But I have heard some people get great mileage from them and others get less than 200,000. When I make the switch it is going to be to a single because of weight. Had to get new drives a month or so ago and bought cheap aggressive caps knowing I would be keeping them and using them for harvest.

You would've been fine with the 14ply but 16 sure won't hurt.

Have any of you done the math on the LRR tires versus the meatier/deep tread not LLR tire?

I know years ago we got a set of LRR tire and wore them out in a year. Normally we get 2 or more out of them.

In the Military we have hummvee's which use whatever for coolant and all I know is we can get them up to 240+ and roll on down the road. Without water you remove the boiling point and in turn the pressure is different. Yes, in normal coolant, boiling point is 230 (right?) and the pressure starts to build at that point but, with coolant that has no water, the boiling point would change and so would the pressure, yes? I am no engineer and have no endorsements or articles to back this up.....

I listen to KR every weekend and look forward to it.. I also have been on this forum since 2009 and have spent many an hour reading and re-reading everyones threads on any and everything trucking related. I like BBB because he really seems to give a crap about trucking, like I do. The same goes for others on here. I don't see why we cant agree that KR gives a crap about trucking and drivers as well???? He had a guy on there about a month ago that outright called KR a liar for claiming what he makes on his 3 trucks with FedEx. KR said he has posted his P&L statement on line and told the guy where he can see it and also said, he would put up $1000 to the guys favorite charity to prove it. The guy said he would put up $100... I know there are O/O's out there barely surviving and others that are making some good, no great, money. I don't own my own truck, yet! but, as a company driver, I will put up $1000 hard earned money to prove a point that I am confident about, would you? I believe KR gives good advice, for most but, not all. It's true that not all advice is good for all people. I have never heard him call anyone stupid for doing what they want to do but, anyone that says you cant get better fuel miliege by slowing down is an outright liar! Its physics man! Anyway, all I am saying is those like BBB that say we should know what we are doing BEFORE we buy a truck and learn all we can from all sources, is right. So, lets not bash someone, anyone, for doing their best to help other drivers out here. One more thing, if a driver can make what He/She says is good money at $1.30 pm, who are we to condem them? And if said driver that was on Kevins show that was getting the $1.30 pm, is doing better at $1.30 than he was, isn't that a good thing??? He sure was happy! I will take all the knowledge I get from this forum, KR and the web,,,,roll it around in this thick skull of mine for another year and make what I feel is an informed desision (sp?) and thank all for it and not look back.... Thanks in advance for your help in helping me grow a 3-10 truck operation and making as much money as I can.....God Bless

Went and looked at the tread on those 86 rr tires and I would not want them in snow and ice, so I agree with bbb. I got 320,000 out of my 720's. I got casing credit on all 8. Not bad.

Having found an alignment shop helped too. Actually found him thanks to kevins show.

Kevin is a dreamer, idea man, and does not get the consequences right at times. I continue to listen when I am driving.

I need a good shop in the Central IL area. I want to make sure all is right before putting new steers on.
