If more than two lanes I take the middle and drive at a speed that feels safe.
Let those getting on and off use the right lane and the racers have the left.
When I was taught the far right (now slow) lane was for local traffic, middle was the thru or travel lane, and far left was for passing.
Traffic jams used to be a good time to roll a joint but that will get ya in trouble these days![]()

It would be nice to have a big plow attached to your truck and make it look like something outta Mad Max....just shove the idiots out of the way. lol But, of course, you can't do that.
As stated, just let off the throttle a bit. You got to keep a safe distance. Most people don't know any better. Or they are so wrapped up in their own little worlds, they don't care. But as said above, if you rear end them, that's on you.
Driving is common sense. Even though watching other drivers or four wheelers out there, you'd have to conclude that common sense is non-existent for the most part. lol -
Add some spikes to a Lonestar and you'd be dang close to it.... -

Why pick on 4 wheelers ? The worst offendors I see are governed trucks . Watch an elephant race for a few miles and see how much space the truck that finally pulls ahead in the left lane backing traffic up for 2 miles leaves in front of the truck he was passing .

I have to say that I have seen some Truckers doing stupid things out there too. I been driving local 18 years just went to O T R and I have seen all drivers making mistakes so no one is innocent We need to just keep in mind we are the Professional drivers no matter how rough it gets and by not acting in a Professional manner we as Truckers are helping those people that say ( it is that dumb Truckers Fault) become truth instead of a lie!!!
I will also say that Governed Trucks is not the Truckers Fault it is the company that Employs The driver. Why,they are worried about Fuel cost so don't pick on the driver by blasting on the C B just understand that they are doing the best they can!!! Be Professional!!!! -
In the context of this thread though - rush hour in metro areas - it's usually the 4 wheelers and the faster trucks that I see doing the silliest stuff.grenade668 and LaBubba Thank this. -
personally on the highway in my 4 wheeler, i refuse to pull back over to the right until i can see the car or truck in my rearview mirror. it usually results in a pretty good buffer over the car behind me.
thing that kills me is ANYONE following so close i can't see their headlights(day or night) in the rearview mirror. sorry but to me that means you are way too close.
