They paid the lease company not me....as a consumer you are not responsible to watch them and make shure they dont screw up. If they do they are liable.

I had no truck for 10 weeks!!! What other job? You cant be an owner operator with no truck!!! I didnt take a settlement. they owe me my lost wages. paying off the truck to the lease company is a seperate issue. I lost all the payments I made plus the down payment too. This was a lease purchase. I would have owned it at the end. so if we go with your theory if you go to a reasuraunt pay for a stake and they screw it up take it back and throw it in the trash your whole, they dont owe you a new stake! same theory here. they threw my truck in the junk yard just like trash. thats only halfway to making me whole. just as you would want a new stake I want a new lease, plus my lost wages for all this time. when this happend they even told me they would pay it if they were at fault. keep in mind they refused to get me a truckfor the ten weeks. I have been offere 9k already so all of you who think they dont owe me are wrong, even they know!! 9k for ten weeks is just rediculous tho. come on guys we all know as an owner operator we make way more then that.

For real man? people ask why the shut down may have not worked. this is a theory only. its possible the truck even with no oil still sensed some pressure. I DID NOT KNOW ABOUT IT!!! It was told to me after the fact. It also does not let them off the hook!! some trucks dont even have a shut down. A shop is required to do there job. They did not put oil in the truck period!! its not up to the consumer to cover there but. Your not required to take the key, have a enginge shut down, or stand and watch them. granted these things may help but if they screw up they are at fault period!! They did ask to start the truck...it was already blown at that point, by them not me!!!

One of the other guys where I'm leased had a PM done at TA Aurora. Everything was fine for few days, then things went wonky. Burned oil like it was fuel one tank, and not use a drop the next. Power finally started dropping off, and they had to tear it down. Seems they put transmission oil in the crankcase and that had caused the rings to start sticking. Gear oils apperently don't much like the temps found at the ring/cyl. contact, as the ring grooves where completely filled with ash/soot/gunk. Luckily, the guy who tore it down noticed the oil smelled funny and had pulled a sample of the oil. Last I knew they had been fighting with TA for 4 or 5 months, I'll have to ask what finally happened.

:biggrin_2556:Where do you get your truck worked on where they allow you to be in the garage watching them work on your truck??!! I always see signs saying no driver is allowed out of the safety area (usually denoted by yellow lines painted on the garage floor.)
