There are several threads already about GPS on here, search them and read through for all the opinions, as well as the pros and cons of running a GPS, and the "proper" way to use one.

I have a Garmin Nuvi truck GPS and it serves it's purpose well enough for me.

Rand McNally TND710 is by far the best I think. It has truck specific routing, lifetime map updates, and the truck options are outstanding. I like that it will keep track of how many miles you drive in each state separately for you. Here at LS we have to write down our state mileage. Makes things a LOT easier

I have the TND510 cuz the 7" screen was just to dang big for my windshield

where do you find that? under truck tools? I need to write them down for my company also and sometimes pen/paper can be a pain if you lose one.

Yes, it's under truck tools. It's EXPORT MILEAGE. You just have to remember to reset it at the beginning of each trip

A word of caution...You better be careful, those GPS things will get you on roads that (although legal for commercial vehicles) large trucks should not be on! Mine put me on a back road in KY that was just wide enough for a car, little on a big truck. Then a week later, on a curvy mountain road that i should not have been on at all. A few weeks later it got me on roads on Long Island that were nearly impassable for large trucks. If you do get one it would be a very good idea to go over your route on a map first before you blindly trust a GPS.

I do not trust those things at all!

That describes the places we deliver to every week (except for the legal part sometimes ).
