Students must team?

My husband just went to prime, he starts orientation tomorrow, did he make a good decision? Can you please tell me what we have to look forward to?

In my opinion, yes, he made a good decision. Like all companies, Prime isn't perfect, and what works for me may not work for him. I've never had a problem getting home time when I wanted it.

 

Home time is not a big issue, we knew going into this that it could be rare. He went to Stevens in TX and got totally screwed and I just don't want it to happen to him again. I don't think any company is perfect, but we expect to get what they say they give. Stevens did not, hoping that Prime will. He already has his CDL, just not sure what to expect in the training period.

 

Theyve given me everything they said they would.

 

I am going to Prime in June when my school year ends. This will be my first and last career. I don't have the time to waste at my age so I am doing my best to avoid what happened to your husband.

I have scoured the Net for months now and have come to the conclusion that Prime will be best for me, especially as a "student driver".

Right now it's Spring break so I'm studying to get my CDL permit and haz mat endorsement.

Once I'm solo, I'm bringing my wife and dog with on the road and perhaps, she will get her CDL and we will drive to OTR riches. lol. No kids. Small appartment w/ low rent. Life should be good, or better than it has been for us the past year.

Thank you, and to you and your family as well, unfortunately, we have children (1 is only 4 months) so I will be home..But after all the money we have put out for this career change, I just want what is best for him. his is the first time he has ever been away from the family (same town for 30 years) and all of this is so new to us..just looking for all the info and advice we can get.

 

Sit back with a good cup of joe and read all of these posts from everyone that has gone before you. Some (ORD) have done a good job documenting their experience.
