I don't mind it, the people are nicer and the runs out are longer for regional guys like me. Oh, and I have family and friends that live there and used to go on vacations there almost every weekend when I was younger. Almost all customers let you park on-site, they aren't rude, and they always will let you deliver or PU early. Acadian French (spoken in New Bruswick, Newfoundland, Eastern Quebec, and Manitoba) was my first language and although I forgot alot I remember the basics (order food, read signs in Quebec, BS w/ customers, etc)

I like Canada in general because it is cleaner, the people are mostly nicer, and with the right run I can cover 780 miles in one day legally w/ a 2 hr nap mid-day. People make going seem worse then it is but once your used to it (some weeks I cross 6+ times each way) then its not so bad. Also, Canada tends to have some VERY attractive female border agents specifically when crossing from Lewiston, NY and the night girl during the week crossing from Calais, ME into New Brunswick

 

You can keep the northeast (both sides of the border) they're still arrogant yankees everytime I have to deal with them. Get out west and things turn MUCH friendlier.

Thursday loaded in Walled Lake Mi,to D&H @ Kmart in Warren Oh Friday,Relay with a sadazz team and took it to Mechanicsburg,friday night,then over to carlise on 3rd preplan to Chelmsford mass UPS,then 4th preplan up to Florence VT and P/U the load and dropped here on yard in taylor and will be P/U 5th preplan in brighton going to freightliner in Cleveland NC then home for my daughters wedding saturday

What's wrong with your truck?

 

I'm currently at the W. Memphis yard taking 10 break. Took awhile getting loaded in Houston this morning. I'll be heading to Taylor in the morning. This load goes to corunna, on which is just across the border.

 

catastrophic failure with the EGR valve and not sure what else. It died on me at 65mph between Dallas and Ft. Worth the other night while I was in the 3rd lane with heavy traffic.

 

Gah!
Our A/C died yesterday when it was 95+ degrees out.
Spent last night in Phoenix in a hotel and today at KW waiting while they got it fixed.
They told us they were taking our load when I called in this morning and that the guy was 14 miles out but 5 hours later (an hour and a half after they finished us up) he still hadn't showed so they put us back on it.
Continuing on to Minneapolis with it now.
