It's easy to ridicule because that math is ridiculous. Traffic? Live loads? The "don't arrive early" game? So you're saying that out there in the real world exists a perfectly pristine, controlled environment with repeatable variables where driving faster means more miles for that week? And the difference is enough to offset the cost of safety and fuel? And that big companies can take advantage of this thinking?

Which is safer?
Driving with traffic? Or creating a rolling roadblock that forces people (cars and trucks) to maneuver around?
What makes the math ridiculous? The fact it's true?
No one has answered how is $12000 in fuel worth $13,000 lost revenue.Wiseguywireless Thanks this. -

Its sad most carriers have brought down the industry so much that most trucking companies are generalized as thieves.
I was warned a lot before getting into trucking. I'm just happy I enjoy working for my company, I keep an eye on all my miles and i drive a governed truck but don't feel like I'm cheated out of anything. You see so many bad posts about company xyz and yet people still go work for them. Crazy junk out there.

I do find it puzzling people have so little faith in the business practices of those they enter into agreements with. -

Yeah my phone sometimes puts predictive text in odd spots.
Back to the question.
How do you know those miles would be there? Further what is wrong with making every mile as profitable as possible instead of following the L/O mantra of get more miles miles miles miles?chalupa Thanks this. -
i really dont see the point of going fast anyway, case en point, i running down the road at my set speed of 62 mph, this super trucker blows past me, i allready called ahead too confirm my door at the dock, told them when i be there, lo and behold heres mr super trucker, i go in tell em and they give me my door, now mr super trucker is mad, said he got here first, she looked at him , did you have assign door, no, well then you have too wait, so i guess that my point, why hurry if you have too set at the dock anyway, and risk running a family over in a mini van that got in your way.more accidents were cause by drivers with too much speed and cannot slow down in time
