Is the training good.. I know once out of training when you go on the road with your trainer you get 90.00 bucks a day and if you want you can get the 250 sign on bonus for 25.00 bucks a day for the first 10 days. So this means you will make 115.00 a day for 10 days which isnt all that bad for newbie training and seems better then most other companies I researched. I may choose the 7/4 7/3 van division and was wondering how much I would make on average gross. I know since I will be home more I will make less for sure . The bad thing about it is I will have to slip seat and drive from either Gary Indiana or St. Louis Illinois to home when off. Thats a lot of gas money for sure since I live in Terre Haute Indiana. How far on average will the loads be in this division and are they good at getting home after 7 days. Any info will be helpful even if it doesnt pertain to what I ask. I had a class A once about 10 yrs ago so hopefully I will recall some of this stuff and Im actually used to driving bucket trucks and straight trucks all the time. Thanks

woods78, ya might want to check with roehl on the 7/4 7/3 from your location.
quite a drive either way ya go. The training is top notch and as far as home time on
the home time fleet, they really try to get ya home on time. ive been a day late a few times. As far as yearly average gross on 7/4 7/3 right around 30k, sometimes a little less sometimes a little more. Im out of east st louis, Ill and drive 85 miles to the trk. hope this helps and good luck !

No terminal just a secure drop yard behind the pilot in East St Louis ILL.
I-55 exit 4 gateway race track and drag strip across the street.
they also have a secure parking lot for drivers to park there cars.

I'm going thru the training right now. Let's call it "FAST paced". First day was paperwork, then afternoon we did pre/posttripping and a little driving on the range. Yesterday (day 2) driving and a little straight backing on the range and pre/posttripping. We were told yesterday that we may hit the roads around the area today. Not sure if we were being teased, but I think Brian's tired of doing laps around the range.
All in all, with what I came in knowing and where we are in the training at the end of day two, I'd say I've learned a lot. LOTS of safety info to learn as well. I've been up by 4am, and not in bed til after 9pm with the homework.
You've gotta WANT it to do the quick training...and you've gotta be able to "get it".

Sounds like my training at CR England back in 2006. Wild! Still, I think it's better to learn that way than over a longer period. This way you have nothing in your head exccept truck driving and your only job is to learn how to operate a truck safely.
