Bendix system? I think you mean the meritor collision sensor. Yes, I very much do hate it with a passion. The beeping drives me NUTS. But overall I LOVE how it maintains my cruise control. Such as, say I'm running 61 on cruise, car infront is going 57. It slows me to 56/57 and maintains it. When the car moves it speeds me back up to original cruise.

I DO love the cruise. I DO NOT like it hitting my brakes. It is COOL to see how much space is infront of you and how fast they are going. Other then cruise and the coolness factor, it's pretty crappy. Plus when it hits your brakes, you will 100% notice because it's not a tap, it's you go forward it hits so hard. Normally though it uses engine brake before it hits that hard.

Though I do agree, you should never be that close and the whole thing where people say "Oh it hits your brakes when people cut you off". Yes it does if they are going slower then your speed and they are dead on close. It's all about safety and so far I've gotten use to it.

Ah, I hear so many different names it's so hard to keep up with. Either way, there is some good and bads to these systems. Drivers just don't like having their brakes be hit on them when they shouldn't be. Yes it's happened to me but there is nothing we can do unless we cut those wires.

Yeah, have y'all tried putting tape over it? To keep it from detecting anything?

I have not tried it. It hasn't bothered me as much as I lead on that it does. I mean don't get me wrong, I dislike anything having control over something as vital as braking but it reminds me to keep my distance and overall keeps me safe. The beeping is enough to make you drive safe.

Will it apply brakes even if you are using the foot pedal or is it just on cruise?

Both. Now if I put my foot on the brakes it overrides, or atleast it seems it does.
