Different states, different situations, different police agencies involved yet you think the cops would have the same response? When I read the post she explained they were both out of the vehicle and moving around on their own power. No ambulance needed unless someone is bleeding, unconscious, or complaining of pain.
She was in a completely foreign situation. In a truck with a guy she doesn't know (or trust) acting strangely. Probably in shock as well. The smart move was to keep things calm and not make things worse. Your second guessing her from a mans perspective. Cut her some slack.
Your right everyone's got an opinion and it is doubtful anyone will agree with yours.
And here we have the crux of the problem I suspect ADHD may be your problem. Anything more than a couple paragraphs and your eyes glaze over? Lack of focus on the narrative? Or a simple lack of ability to comprehend? No need to answer either just think about it.
Either way the original post was well written and shows a level of intelligence that greatly exceeds most of the 1 or 2 sentence glib retorts seen here.

I am not going to get in to a typing war with you about a difference of someone elses situation, o.k. you don't agree with what I had to say fine, I don't care.
But is it really necessary to question my level of comprenhension? Or state that I may be aflicited with ADHD? That's not really fair now is it? You would have been better off posting some smilieys or just skip the childish behavior all together and go straight to the name calling.
At the end of the day nobody died or was seriously injured you believe the entire story written in very small type and was longer than 98.99% of original post written on this message board and I don't, believe me sir or madam it is not the end of the world and I am going to sleep very well tonight.
Tell you what...go to your local watering hole and buy yourself a nice stiff drink and enjoy it, you seem to be kinda uptight, no need to respond just think about itwin-some-loose-less Thanks this. -
Obviously you do care or you wouldn't have taken the time to respond.
I saw no ulterior motive in her well written post. You obviously had objections to the length which lead me to believe you may have difficulty with reading comprehension or staying focused. Its okay driver, many people have this ailment now a days. There is medicine available for this so feel free to dicuss this problem with your personal physician.
Thanks for the offer of the drink but I do not drink. My mind is clear and I am willing to discuss your obvious hang ups further if you feel the need.
Otherwise step off your soap box and go sulk some where else. -
O.K.

I don't know what to think.First of all is the part about doing research and picking crst, which has a horrible reputation.I believe the wreck happened as she stated but I truly believe that in today's culture, people are trained to become proffesional victim's as soon as something bad happens. It's a sad story and meant to be that way by her description. With just a little bit of research they would have not gone to crst to begin with.Ten years ago,the story would have been"I was in an accident and the truck left the road,I was lucky and no body was killed.I dusted myself off and finished my training elsewhere and have been driving ever since".Today you get fired, layed off, have a bad situation and all you hear is lawyers, doctors, life coaches, workmans comp, law suits, etc, etc, etc.I'm sick of hearing about bad luck and how everybody and everything is to blame.Sometime's life's just tough!

She did what she had to do to escape the situation when she realized how dangerous it was. Why did she not realize sooner? Shock. Plain and simple.jlkklj777 Thanks this. -
Trainer's truck didn't happen to be named "BIG TINA" or maybe "BIG TINA II"?
-
I drove past the scene shortly after the accident, I remember thinking at the time the driver had fallen asleep............
The road has a slight right, then left curve and downhill grade and the truck looked as if it just went off the road straight into some trees, truck and trailer came to rest perfectly straight with no visible skid marks. This would imply there was no attempt at any evasive manuevers to "avoid a deer"mrvolts Thanks this. -
I first read this thread several hours ago and I have watched it grow over time. Yes the OP is lengthy, but I think it is compelling.
I have watched as this person was first disparaged for everything from the length of her post to the length of time and number of posts she has on this sight as if that mattered at all in what happened to her. Her point of view is just as valid if she has ten posts or several thousand.
She has also been maligned for her choice of starter company 'cause everyone knows CRST has a bad reputation" again, so what!! By whatever standards they set for a company CRST seemed to be the best choice for them.
I've also watched as this thread slipped into a "cat fight" between two (adults)? over several issues.
The bottom line of the problem is something that is called Corperate Resposibility. Unfortunately a lot, not all, trucking companies speak of it but don't practice it. I think that stems from the fact that trucking companies don't deal with the general public on a daily basis. They don't know how to treat people that they don't come in contact with face to face on a daily basis.
Corperate responsibility or the lack thereof is also shown by what sort of people they allow to be trainers/mentors or what ever they want to call them. I constantly read the horror stories on here of the way trainers are allowed to train with seemingly no oversight or standards of performance
To the people that say "well that's just trucking" that's where I call BS. If manufacturing, healthcare, education etc. can establish rules and guidelines in reguards to job performance, HR issues and pay there is no reason trucking can't also.25(2)+2, scottied67 and drvrtech77 Thank this.
