Got call from Katrina in recruiting..app. approved

Did Stevens tell you to get a medical card and drug screen? Because if not you will have to do it all over again in Dallas.

 

Yea was told by the recruiter in Phoenix and in Dallas that since already hed my appt with dr for a DOT Physical I t would be ok to get it thru him. They did say if I wanted to and for some reason couldn't make appt today I could use their Dr. I went to my Dr today and cleared for 2yrs. I will have to do the drug screen when I get to Phoenix next Fri and paperwork for the school.

 

Ok, because they used to say only med cards and drug screens from Co. doctor.

Was thinking the same thats why I made sure I asked them several times. The only thing they are gonna make me do before I start the school is the drug screen. I won't have any prob with that.

 

Stevens will issue you a med card and that is the one they consider valid.
They have their own staff doctor. The cost to you is zero.
Depending on your health, they will issue a card good for anything from 90 days to one year.
I take blood pressure meds. My card is good for 90 days.
All drivers are required to return to the yard every 90 days for 'safety training' (classes) and assorted other things. That is when you see the doctor again for another extension of your med card.
Really very quick and easy.
They also provide an annual DOT physical each year at no charge.
I keep a separate 2 yr med card (my cost) in the event they mess up and don't get me back into the yard within the 90 days.

 

AAAHHH...I don't have high blodd pressure...always been normal. Have Type 2 Diabetes...take only meds for that. Never been on insulin or even close to needed to be on insulin. Am a big guy 6ft 6in 321lbs...was over 400 when driving with CRE. When went in yesterday for Med card my dr said everything was good., had no prob oking me for 2yrs. When I get to Phoenix next week will check again to be sure. I know both recruiters said that I do have to do the drug test with Stevens, that was a must. Guess i will have to see what happens. I know some of those company docs can be real bears and the slightest thing they may not pass you.
