Just curious as to why dont truckers and drug dealers in the truckstops use a different channel? I dont know how many times I have been going past a truckstop and didnt hear about the accident up ahead in enough time to take an alternative route because someone is arguing about the President not matter who it is or got the real deal/good green/nose candy/ chicken feed. I propose that all truck stops use channel 30.......heck the dude that is about to take your nose off doesnt have his cb on or he doesnt own one anyway.:biggrin_2556:

Why didn't you ask drivers going the other way about the traffic? And if we were on channel thirty in the truckstop you would be here complaining that drivers were arguing there and you couldn't find out if there was any parking or lot lizards there. And for the drug dealing comment since when are they there? If I were dealing drugs think it might not be a good idea to be in a pubilc place where people are talking on the radio about dealing drugs that most state police monitor(and they do by the way) see cb's in CT D.O.T cars alot. Unless you're asking to go to jail or just plain stupid I would stay away from there. Might be a good practice for you to use your cb alittle more often to get traffic reports instead of waiting til you come to a truck stop where you know radio traffic is high and idiots argue all the time.

Slowride I think you missed my point about traffic. I was just giving an example of how the people at the truckstops jam channel 19 for the truckers passing by on the highway. U suggested why not check with traffic headed in the opposite direction. I agree but I can not get a word in when Im around a truckstop because of the drivers in the truckstop jamming the station hence the reason for the original post. I see you been around for 24 years and dont know about the drugs at truckstops are you local? Just curious. BTW Im not just complaining to complain I am offering a viable solution to keep 19 open for highway communication.

Otis the drunk was a heroin dealer at Mt pilot....he just faked being drunk to throw off the feds. Why you think he was in that cell every night? So he could re-up and Aunt Bea was running the drug cartel out of the sheriffs station. Always wondered why she always carried tht picnic basket to Andy. He and Barney distributed the drugs to the truckers....lol

I dunno...never heard of any drug dealers hangin out at truckstops. I don't know where you're stopping. I am am local but when I was OTR never heard of it. I guess it's everywhere though... Quit doing drugs in the 80"s when I decided to grow up and be a man so not looking for drugs in truckstops. Besides I have better connections than there if I were doing them....lol

My guess to your question OP is the ones who jam up 19, WANT for everyone else to hear what they have to say...and as we all know, 19 is the place where most can be found.

Do these people care if you get caught up in that traffic jam up the road? Not really....it's not them, it's you so what do they care? But they do want to get their message across.

Also they probably figure you still have your radio on 19 from the road so there's a better chance of them getting their message out.

Now if you really want a complaint, consider the ones who not only tie up 19 but also have their 10k amp on at the same time, to really get their message across.

    I don't use channel 9. But I like tacos. :biggrin_255:
