I am recent grad, out for 2 weeks so far.had 2 jobs offered, but can't do training because i have 2 separate medical appointments.both are pretty much standing appointments every 29 days each.the companies have no problem after training period to get mt to them, but can't break away from training to make them.does anyone know of a company local etc.that is real flexible.i am not even fussy about pay until i get 1 year in.i live in florida in stuart and near melbourne, port st. Lucie, fort pierce and palm beach county ,west palm beach.con-way is not hiring in my area. Also i tried waste management.does anyone know do you have to have tractor trailer experience to show to other cdl class a jobs or can you use anything with a class b or air brakes or double-clutching vehicles. Thanks

GO TO TEXAS!!!!!!!! Check out Midland/Odessa/San Antonio, etc. They are starting newbs @ $17. p/hr and you'll work over 80 hours a week hauling sand/water. The oil companies are not going anywhere anytime soon and the exp you'll get will pay off huge if you want to work in Tankers. Texas is just like Florida as far as the weather goes. Hot, humid, and crazy at times!! I hope this helps!!

To have doctor appointments every 29 days, will make just about ANY trucking job impossible for you to get started with. You will need a more "localized" job, so try some of the other LTL companies near you. There is also construction jobs you can try. You can also try say for instance, warehouses that NEED yard jockeys with the class A. Try any food warehouse in the area.

As far as class B experience to be used for class A time?? Forgedaboudit. B is B and A is A.

Further, if you need to go to the doctor that often, you may find getting health insurance difficult as well, and you may be limited for a year or two until the benefits kick in. If you have something that severe of a condition, that IS REQUIRING YOU to see your doctor, every so often, you may not be able to perform any class A job. The trucking company doctors can and WILL give you a difficult time in getting your health card.

He has said he has appointments every 29 days, or did you not see that?? Which means, he cannot go to Texas. Please read the posts.

I am of the thinking, these are of a very important appointments for a life altering illness.

For someone to have to go so regularly suggests this to me, as this just isn't "the normal" amount of times a person NEEDS to go to a doctor.

Knight has a terminal in Lakeland. I believe Roehl has a terminal in Ocala.

Any Associated Grocers terminals down that way?

You're really going to have to watch who you sign up with to make absolutely sure you make it back in time for your appointments each month. I can see most carriers saying "no problem"... then you find yourself stuck halfway across the country the day before your appointments because your schedule didn't work out as planned. Happens all the time in OTR.

    That's right.

    Half way across the country.

Not too many companies will cater to such a schedule for the driver, as the freight DICTATES where the driver goes.
