you people can't get home once a month ??????? jeeez, what kind of companies y'all work for ?? I make all my appts on Monday as I'm home on the weekends, unless they ask me to stay out. and I said ASK ME.

You need to talk to some of the LTL companies, maybe start as a dock worked and move up. Pay is just as good at the union ones.

    Interesting wording.

I wonder, are these appointments on the same day?

If not, it will make things doubly difficult.

I would say this getting him home every 29 days consistantly is remote unless he lands a dedicated or regional runs. But then again he still has the problem getting home while in training.Problem with so many students while in school don't think to check on anything before attending school. Most don't have a clue what trucking in detail is like.

my appointments are known to the company i applied to and i talked to a few companies and told them the truth about my situation and even gave them the name of my medication .i took a dot exam and passed and they were aware of my medication and my results came up negative. i talked to numerous people, school companies etc. and all answered the same no problem except training time interruptions.if you must know the medication is for a constant pain in my back because of one disk.i have no restrictions on lifting or bending and feel no pain at all while on medication.i am very flexible.if not for constant pain i wouldn't need anything. i have been on the same dosage for more than a year.so i go once a month for a 5 mins wait to just pick up a prescription.the other appointment is just a minute also to fed ex to pick up medication that comes directly from maker .if i had insurance i could get the disk replaced and be out for only 6 weeks.but no insurance,so that is my story.

    Nope, not me.

    But I AM HOME daily!!!

But then again, I put in my time for a job like mine. Some right out of school want what some of us have and need not be bothered with "doing the time" to get there.

    I want a Domino's pizza, but I don't wanna wait for the delivery guy.:biggrin_2559:

Driving a truck for a living could damage your back permanently and lead to paralysis. I'm really surprised that a company would hire you with that type of condition. Just saying.
