Hey there, thank you for the information.got a question i was told after 30 days or maybe sometimes 90 days after graduation they will not hire you and want you to get a refresher course.is this true?i also have a problem doing any training out of state oth etc. Because i have 2 standing medical appointments that just take a minute a piece.one is a doctor to give me a prescription not schedule 1.no one has a problem with the medication i use and the other appointment is for picking up the prescription from fed ex in and out ,all routine procedures and just a minute a piece.just a minute's time.so no one wants to break up the orientation and 28 day training period to get me home at these times, but no problem after the training period in the future. Do you have any advice for me. Thanks ps. I live in florida (stuart near west palm beach, melbourne, fort pierce and pt. St. Lucie areas).been out of school for 2 weeks.last in truck a couple of days after.i was thinking to take a 2 hour ride every 30 days to keep fresh at the cdl school, what do you think.

Hey folks....new poster here. I have recently gotten the medical exam and written test out of the way, but still need to take the driving portion. I have a permit and am looking for a place to get some driving experience on weekends so I don't have to quit the day job for right now. Any suggestions from anyone? Thanks in advance. In the Orlando area.

Hi Folks
Glad I found this tread, done with all my endorsements(Haz,Tanker,Double/Triple.Have currently my student permit and Health card, should have permanent CDL within 3 weeks.
Any leads in greater Riverside, and or OC and or Los Angeles, or Desert towns (Palm Springs etc)
Do not mind hard work, even loading/unloading, and any or all hours.
Have clean slate,no tickets,accidents,convictions,etc.

Would prefer local, or regional. -
You can always get a job running OTR at the drop of a hat.
Does that tell you anything??
With all the junkyard equipment and low pay rates I'd hafta
be pretty hard pressed to go that route again.
It goes without saying that competition for local jobs is very keen.
In the local sector it is truly an employers market as they have a
whole slew of drivers after any given job.
That said you need to keep yer MVR spotless and maintain a good
work history if you expect to have a good shot at a decent local
job with a reputable local outfit (no scumbags).
A tough nut to crack in todays market. -
I was OTR for less than a month before I jumped truck and came home. OTR just wasn't how I wanted to live, although it was fun while it lasted. Within two weeks I had two interviews and managed to land a job with a well known and respected company. They wanted to start me off in a Class B job, but since I had been OTR they let me do a road test in an A and ended up giving me a job that pays extremely well considering my lack of experience. So, there is hope guys!
