wow...
I'm NOT trying to sound like a jerk here but I have to wonder...
WHAT kind of pain meds is the OP on?
He alludes to having major pain and a condition that needs surgery.
The pain meds work to keep the pain away.. but, in his own words, he "is not high". I had family that have been on the Oxy type things, they WERE high. ALSO for LEGITIMATE back pains. My qualm is not about someone taking something to alleviate the pain. I have no problem with that. HOWEVER...
Driving a truck while on it? We were told in school that IF any of us were on such med's we would have to get a Dr. to sign off saying that the meds did NOT effect our ability to op a motor vehicle. And good luck with that, they said, being the Dr's butt would be on the line then.
I gotta shake my head at the thought of someone being on certain types of med's
behind the wheel of rolling death.
Oh the thing about being high is my family member didn't think so either.
Until they got off of em.
DESPERATE!!!

Are the pills you are on will make your urine test positive for something, ie. some strain of narcotic?? If so, then you might not be a candidate for this line of work!! No insurance is going to cover you over there or anywhere for that matter. Texas is still better than Florida, just saying!!
-
And yeah, the facts are what you and I (and a few others) are saying. I think the o/p was railroaded into a belief that he is in the clear.

Not saying that's issue here. Could be many things. -
I have family that are prescription pain med addicts this is frightening famliar. No one on narcotic pain meds should drive anything ever
my son claims he isn't high just not feeling any pain huh? -
Just because someone is on prescription pain medicine does not make you an addict.

However, would you feel safe on the road with my sister? She is currently on about 25 prescriptions.
Including one for morphine, loritab, and a half dozen more I can't pronounce.
She can barely stand by herself. But she does have a valid drivers license.
