@truckerswife 08 I did orientation for TMC (Truckers Marine Corp). Some of the instructors there are very ####y & arrogant! They talked to you like crap. The first day you have to perform a test on lifting a tarp while climbing onto a trailer; the physical therapists is grading you to see if you are using your back or legs while lifting the tarp. Also you will be climbing on top of a 20 ft connex/container while its on a trailer to see if you are afraid of heights.

Worked out fine for me......showed up serious about a job, payed attention and did what was asked of me, including not walking on the grass.

A few "yes sirs" and "no sirs" thrown in here and there didnt hurt.

Like has been said over and over....most people get sent home because the company finds stuff in their background that the driver failed to include on their application.

Most people these days are soft, cant follow orders and expect their employers to kiss their rear ends. So TMC has a tough screening process and their flatbed school eliminates people that arent serious about their job....wheres the crime?

If you dont wanna work hard and prove yourself, go somewhere else.

You are the man! All trucking jobs for 62 mile an hour trucks should be so stringent!
Dude, I've said it before and I'll say it again ... flatbed. Easy enough a middle aged broad can do it.
Now go tarp your lumber load, you manly man!

Climbing on top of a container seems dumb. I'd
Secure them with out the drama of going on top.

Chained front and back, threw straps over. Never
got on top of container. Container locks would
work to. Top shelf carrier like tmc must have
    them on all trailers right?

Ok I'm wrong on this one. This has nothing to
do with securing a can. They want you to
experience what it's like to tarp
    a tall load.Sorry to all.

yup know exactly what your talking about. I made it to the last few days and told them to stick it after I got in to it with a instructor trying to tell me how to shift and being a arse to other students that was fresh out of school. I told him that I had owned my own truck and I know how to drive one, and as for the other students they are here to learn not to be yelled at and make things worse. Rented a car and came home and got a better driving job.
