Depends, it might be a few versions behind. Always good to update as soon as possible.

    Thanks,

I purchased my 5" tnd in January from a TA. My speaker went out on it last week, so I'm having to run an external speaker for it now. TA won't exchange it because I was purchased more then 30 days ago. So now I guess I have to send it in to Rand Mcnally to have it fixed. Yeah, no problem except I'm on the road for 6-8 weeks at a time and only home for 4 days. So what am I supposed to use for the next 2 months its gonna take for me to get back home and check my mail. I would like to think Rand Mcnally could send TA a authorization for me to exchange it with them.

TA gets their stock from DAS. TA does not order directly from Rand. Different inventories. And, yes I understand the fustration.

But, you have to go through Rand Support and their existing policies.

    Thanks,
    Mark

I can't get my 710 to even start. It's been 3 days now and it will not boot. First it started crashing a lot, then the DC charger plug stopped working and now the whole unit has stopped. I'm not a happy camper with the problems I've had lately. I updated to the new Dock the unit was also updated. I tried to run the diagnostic but it want recognize it. Keeps saying "unit must be connected." It is connected!

If the 710 is not on, then the computer will not see it. It is like your engine off and putting in gear... you are not going anywhere..

leave unplugged from any power source for 12 hours. Then Plug into AC for 3 hours. It should power on. Once you get to the accept screen, press the reset button.

You can slightly squeeze the USB end of the DC cord if the fit is a little loose. Also wrap the extra DC cord around the bracket to help kept the stress off.

    Thanks,
    Mark

Nothing, I let it sit for 14 hours and charge for 3. It will not boot.

I just sent my 710 back to Rand for repair. Mine was doing the same thing as yours; it won't boot at all. I think the problem started with the charger not fitting properly in the USB port. If I connect a USB cable from my laptop, it fits fine and is securely connected. If I plug in the charger from my truck, I have to pull it out of the USB port on the 710 about 1/4 of the way to connect. After awhile of road vibration, the plug just falls out of the unit. I finally had to buy a 510 as a backup unit while I sent the 710 in for repair. I hope they send a new charger back with the repaired 710.
