Is Roehl ever going to get any new equipment?

OK Dumb question but is it obvious when you have a camera in the truck, there is something in the center of the overhead just above the windshield in my 2012, looks like a Microphone to me.

 

Nah man it's a pin sized camera built into the dash. Joking! Yeah's it's pretty clear that it's a camera.

Maybe not all purty like that one but it's basically what it looks like. (If it's a mic u got which i doubt, scream into "HOLY CRAP, THIS FLEET MANAGER OF MINE IS A..." you get what I mean. And if your fleet managers mood suddenly changes, then you will know for sure its a mic

 

Thanks, I figured it might be part of the bluetooth, or I have also heard that they can eavesdrop on drivers , don't know if it is true or a trucker tale, but in NY State that is wiretapping and will put someone at Roehl in BIG trouble.

 

I guess they will get to hear my sexy voice then.

 

On the website it says the camera records video, audio, speed of vehicle, and location of vehicle.

The system is called smartdrive. Its what's in this truck.

Yeah, that is pretty obvious what it is, I don't have that for sure, guess I don't have to start looking for a new job just yet.

 

have some fun, put duct tape over it. If its a camera you will be getting a phone call from safety.

 

And if you do get a call ask them how they know there's tape over it if its ONLY supposed to record when you have a critical event.

your picture is recorded continuously, full cab and sleeper view. then after "a period of time" the buffer is erased?

depending on the size of the buffer, it might contain two weeks of your in-truck activities. most systems like this allow the company to determine exactly how long it will be before the buffer is re-initialized.
