I forget what the thumb of the rules were about being out of a truck for so long some companies would tell I to come back when u have so many days of experience but since u never really set foot in a truck before I dont know what each companies rules would be on that

If you wait too long the companies won't accept your truck driving school and will require you to take a refresher course (more money). Just food for thought. -
i would talk to the shneider people and see if you can get a regional position, that way you could possibly get home on the weekend

Hi folks,
Total noob to the forum here, and not even that to trucking.
Couple of things:
I have recently had a job loss.
Over the course of regional travel (not trucking other than a stint in a 19,000 lb box truck outfitted as a showroom) on that job, I confirmed just how much I like to go down the road. And when I didn't so much like it or had to get home, I could do some miles none of you CDL guys are allowed to do. ~1200 is my one-day record, I'd say.
Many years ago, I thought about how it would be cool to be a trucker. So long ago, that was probably more true then than it is today.
I realized the other day that now may be the time to seriously look into this matter as a next step in my working life.
After much web surfing I fell on this forum. What a place! The one thing I can say that is not effusively positive is that it is like drinking from a firehose to get info from, not least on this thread.
In the course of that web surfing which started with a very short look at Stevens Transport's training program and the scads of comments hating on them across the interwebs, I found that Schneider seems to enjoy almost a diametrically opposite reputation among drivers.
So, here I am on a thread that is - Holy Smokes - over 270 pages long. And other tabs in my browser have threads well over 100 pages for new drivers, etc.
Awesome.
But daunting.
Is it possible some of you who have followed/read this whole massive thing could point me to some highlight posts you may recall that give some really substantial comments on Schneider, schooling, money (both for school and pay later), etc?
Much appreciated. -
uuuummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, yeeeeeah.
Ok , live unload, Cosco hackensack, NJ , 1500 tomorrow/ Info shows hours of operation on Saturdays to be ........... wait for it...................
0400 to 0900. Um, I quit HS and got my GED, but I'm quite sure that 1500 doesnt fall between 0400 and 0900.
Notice the BOL shows this appt time too. TRIED to explain to DBL this BEFORE I made it active, but it WAS 1600(only an hour to quittin time).
Seriously not getting the messed up times for 11/14/70, just hours after I update NAT screen to reflect realistic times left on HOS. IS it someone is not actually looking at this screen to see what hours to run are when available for next load?
Side note and quick shout out to second shift/support shift!!! IF by chance the ops time are accurate and I'm unable to deliver tomorrow as info states, I'll drop this as a relay and hopefully the can get me a load toward home. This is what support tells me.
