I said plan for three to four days. I know good and well you can get to a store once in that time frame

Baked potatos are nutritious if you eat the skin. I will always choose a baked potato with my meal on the rare occasions I go to a restaurant. Don't drench them in sour cream and butter, either.

As someone earlier mentioned, water is the only thing to drink out here although I drink a liberal serving of coffee each morning. Those flavored creamers are 45 calories each, IIRC, so go easy on the coffee condiments (probably best to drink it black.) No sodas, energy drinks, sweet tea, etc. When I cannot fill my gallon jugs, Pilot has two gallons of water for $3.00 which I buy every 1-2 days. Drinking water is much better for your kidneys, digestive system, and overall health. Saves a massive amount of calories over drinking flavored, sugary drinks, and that corn syrup they use in everything is absolutely horrible for your body, from what I've read.

Other than that, I cannot contribute to the healthy side of the issue, I pack lots of canned meats, like deviled ham, spam, and tuna in my tub for my truck, so I tend to eat too much sodium although I limit my daily calories to 1500 max so I stay at a decent weight. I don't plan on being OTR forever so the bad diet won't kill me by then.

It's really not that extreme. The first three weeks is tough but after that it's great and easy to do. It's not a crash diet either though you will notice the weight falls off. It's a detox diet. American food processing companies are killing your liver and digestive system with processed foods. Your body doesn't know what to do with autolyzed yeast extract, high fructose corn syrup, and other GMO ingredients. Instead of breaking it down and digesting it, your body stores it in your liver and fat cells until they become toxic. Trust the research. It's out there. I was absolutely amazed what I learned when I finally got tired of being 300 lbs. I'm about to get really strict on myself again and work to drop another 30.

I agree with what others have said... seek a more active job where you're in and out of the truck 1000 times a day and doing the unloading. And then going home every night. That's the best way to stay healthy, IMHO.

This sir is a common misnomer. Your high sodium diet contributes to high BP, fluid retention, and increased Systemic Vascular Resistance which makes your heart work harder.

All of this, whether short term or not leads to vessel damage and lasting effects on your coronary arteries. It will cause you problems whether you do it for three months or 30 years. The question becomes how much and that's different for every person because of genetics.

The tuna is okay. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of SPAM and Vienna sausages. Canned soups are horrible as well.

I've lost 35lbs and counting in the past 2.5 months just by changing my diet and doing my job, and that's doing tanker and flatbed work.

I'm a young guy but I've been overweight for 6 years now right around 300lbs so it's not impossible to lose weight while driving.
