Where is their orientation held at? You would be better off if you got on with a fuel hauling outfit. To be honest it may be hard though with the pup rolling incident but since it was over three years ago it may be acceptable with some of the gas haulers.

Not certain where their orientation is held.. I would rather get on with Dooley or Groendyke, but I gotta take what's offered..

Yup... its much more important to get your foot in the door and into a seat than to get overly picky about where you land at the first time. BTW... you need to get in that seat in the next 6 months. After that, the insurance companies at many places tend to start wanting you to get trained all over again.

    leadfoot80 Thanks this.

This is very true and I've even seen people turned away after 90 days had gone by between their training and having a driving job.

Yeah.. I'm not desperate yet, but if I don't get any bites real soon I might find myself hauling silage out of Carpenter..!

No, but the guy talked like they wouldn't be ready to roll for another 2 - 3 weeks. Talked to a guy out in Burns this morning who says he'll give me a shot hauling liquid fertilizer out of Kersey over to Craig (and other places), as well as a cattle haul every once in a while. The only thing I don't like about that deal is the lack of benefits. I'm not sure I want to know how much it would cost me to get benefits for my whole family direct from Blue Cross/Blue Shield! So I'm on the fence with him..
Still waiting to hear back from Dooley and Groendyke. Called them both again this morning (somebody's gonna give me a job just so I'll quit buggin them about it! lol) -- the guy I need to talk to at Groendyke is out of the office today, and the guy at Dooley was on the phone when I called. Honestly I'd rather go with one of those, simply for the benefits. But, like I've said before, I'll take what I can get.

On the benefits note, does anyone know a good place to get good benefits from (other than Blue Cross/Blue Shield)? I'd like to do some calling around today to find out what costs I should expect..

Heck of a drive, but pretty. Brought back a swamper pickup from my old job's Craig office. Left Rock Springs in the afternoon after a day of hauling frac tanks, down WY430 to CO318 over to CO40 to Craig, then up through Steamboat, Walden, Laramie, and over to Cheyenne.

Kersey is not much to look at though. There are some disposals there where we would take our flowback and production water from the well sites.

I haven't been from Kersey to Craig, but I've gone Cheyenne to Craig via Laramie, Walden, Steamboat. I love that drive. Especially Rabbit Ears. Frikkin beautiful coming off of there. Plus, with a full load, you have plenty of time to look around if you're in granny gear with the jakes holding you back! lol
