I will be entering a private truck driving school in a few weeks and I need to get "prehires" from at least 2 different truck driving schools. These are the truck companies the school works with and I would like honest advice who I should start with:
CRST, Werner, TMC, Swift, USA Truck, Schneider, Covenant, England, US Xpress, Arrow, Maverick, Western Express, Roehl, and O & S.
I was reading a lot of the blogs for some of the companies listed above and am thinking of Roehl, TMC, and Swift. Any thoughts? I would like to be a solo OTR driver, coming home every weekend or every other weekend. Your opinions are needed, and thank you in advance.

First off, that is every drivers dream! To be home every week. You can be home every week but aren't going to make a dime so you need to rethink your career decision.
As for prehires, you will most likely get prehired from every company you send an application to so I wouldn't sweat that.

Yes, after checking into plenty of companies I am planning on solo driving and being OTR anywhere from 12-14 days at a time.
Do you have any opinion on any of the companies I listed above? I know from a lot of the blogs here that most of them are considered "bottom feeder" trucking companies, but I know I have to pay my dues.
I appreciate your reply,

First off, Arrow no longer exists.
Many on TTR feel that England should not.
Schneider is not a bad place to start. Swift can be OK for some.
If you want to go flatbed, Maverick, from everything I hear, is the choice. -
Hey, thanks! I will post later and let you know who took this green horn!! lol

From what I've heard and read, Schneider, TMC, or Roehl

Thanks Lonesome...

You're not going to get home every weekend and chances of getting home every other weekend is remote unless you can find dedicated or regional. On their webisit it says hometime every 14 to 17 days. What they really mean every 21 days or longer we'll get you home.
rachi Thanks this. -
first you need to decide if you want flatbed or van or reefer...
next like said above pick a company that works good for you.. you will get prehires from anyone you send an app to as long as your MVR is decent and your backround is clean.
good luck on getting home any sooner than 3 weeks -
