I am trying to find out as much information as possible about trucking before I decide if this the life for me. I am wondering how long the bunks in the trucks are. I know there are some big guys out there who drive and would appreciate some feed back. I am only 6' 3" and know there are bigger drivers then that out there. How comfortable are you when it is time to sleep?

Do a search for length of sleeper or mattress and see what comes up. Someone not too long ago asked the same question. Welcome to the forum.

I am about 6-1 and I find the bunks quite long enough, with a few inches to spare on each end.

Thats good to hear. I have read that most people are so exhausted that they fall asleep fairly quickly so I'm thinking I will have no problems. Thanks for both the post.

Good Question, I'm 6 Foot 3 Also And Was Curious About The Same Thing. Would'nt Want To Shell Out $4,000 For My Dream Job And Find Out I Can't Get The Appropriate Sleep Due To My Leg's Being Bent The Whole Time Or That I Could'nt Change Position's During My Slumber. That Would'nt Be Cool. I'm Going To Go To A Dealership And Try A Few Out And See If The Majority Of Them Will Be Sufficent. I'll Keep Ya Posted.

That would be great! I don't have any dealers close by and the websites I visited weren't very detailed in the sizes of the mattress, just the cab height or cubic feet. Being able to go and lie down in one would be the best way to find out so yes please keep me posted.

O.k. Chlwill, I'm Back After Checking Out A Few Dealership's And All Of The Truck's I Checked Out Had Plenty Of Space To Cop Some Comfortable Zzzz's. I Checked Out Kenworth T 2000, T 600, W 900. Volvo 770, 660, 610. Peterbuilt 387, 379. And Freightliner Century Class, Classic, Coranado, Cascadia, And Columbia. At Each Dealership, The Salesman Looked At Me Like I Was Crazy Because I Climbed Right Into The Sleeper In Each Truck As Soon As I Got In And Gave Each One A Toss And A Turn. I Layed Down In Each One And Put My Hand's Behind My Head And There Was No Problem's. I Could Easily Picture Myself Living In Any One Of Them. They Were Really Nice Truck's. Hope This Helps And Good Luck With Your Future Career. I Believe 6 Foot 5 Will Be Really Comfartable Too.

When you're sleeping in your truck almost everynight you want to be comfortable. The dealer is just trying to make a quick sale, don't mind thhem looking funny at you. :D
