I am a female doing my training right now with a male trainer, with CRST. I have not had any problems at all with him.I do my job and he does his. Off times we both either hang out or just do our own thing. Some nights he gets a hotel room and I get the truck to myself, which I love.. love the alone time. Right now we are sitting in Penn, with our truck in the shop.. #### Qualcom needs to be fixed. So my advice is just take it one day at a time... learn and enjoy the experience.

    Right.

Seriously, I don't think it'll be easy. I think I can manage though.

I did but will not share them here. I also knew a lady who was trained at Swift and had issues with one of her male trainers but since she had no proof of what happened (no pictures, no recordings, nothing) she had to shut up and live with it... Make sure you dress appropriately, behave and talk appropriately with your trainer and ask them to do the same. Avoid any conversation about sex and things that may lead to inappropriate behavior. Have a camera (such as cell phone camera) and sound recorder in case you need to prove what is going on. If you don't feel confortable with trainer (male or female), contact company right away, explain what is going on and request another trainer, otherwise trainer may get you fired... Good luck.

I knew this girl who started at Werner the same time I did.
She was put with a male trainer and after about a week she was back at a terminal filing sexual harrassment paperwork. The trainer would not give her privacy to change clothes. Came on to her a few times. She didn't feel comfortable sleeping in the bunk so she slept in the passenger seat. Oh and he was filthy and never showered.

Oh, one more thing, like Double Yellow wrote in another thread, go to http://www.tatravelcenters.com/ and fill out the info for a loyalty card. Then you can use it for points/ showers at major truck stops (Pilot, Flying J...) So, if your trainer tells you will have to shower with them because they have only one shower in their card... :biggrin_2556: you can use yours (you earn one free shower everytime you use your card to get at least 50 gallons of fuel).

If you have common scenes it is that easy.. Its not rocket science to drive a truck.... However sit a truck stop for awhile and you will wounder how in the world some of these people even got a CDL as they couldn't drive a truck to save there life... I watched a swift driver try to back into a parking spot for over 20 mins he was so mad at hiself he was hitting the dashboard and steering wheel you could see he was yelling at hiself then he kept dumping the clutch the truck lunge up then he would stall it out.. he was clueless he finally gave up and drove off.. his problem was he lacked common scenes on how he approached to back into the spot from the start..

You know, I'm glad you posted this, cuz I am wondering about the same thing. I just feel like I'd be more comfortable with a female trainer than a male. I am going into this with my BF, but we are training separately. I am only hoping that I don't have to wait too long for a female trainer to take me out.
I mean, I was raised to be fairly trusting that most people are good, but there's no way to know about anyone until you are generally trapped in a truck with them. Not that I think all males are out there to get me, but its hard to know about people. So, I am not thinking that a woman trainer will really be better, but I will feel more comfortable, and isnt that what really matters?

Or he wasnt trained properly. I got common sense for days but that doesnt mean I would know how to back a truck without training.
