Thanks to everyone who took the time to read & reply.
As we know respect is a 2 way street, and whether male or female that is all I ask. Well..not all I ask..good hygiene is a must, and someone who wants to train, not just make some extra $$$.
I know it's gonna be a roll of the dice either way, male/female and I will be darn lucky if I get someone with just one good quality.

I know good hygiene is a must, but I wouldnt be expecting a shower everyday, especially if your in those last few weeks running team, expect to be doing what I like to call a "######" bath every now and then (using baby wipes to wipe down). Especially if your at a truck stop during the busy shower period (i was at houston and was gonna have a shower and gave up after waiting 45 mins)

I have never been to a truck driving school or trained the company I hired on with I drove the truck around the parking lot backed it up a handful of times went to the DMV the next day.. took the the driving test got my CDL been driving with the same company for about 10yrs now.. I have never had any accidents nor damaged the truck or anyone elses.. Im down town Chicago alot and you can get yourself into somme pretty tight spots.. but thats where the common sense comes in before I even pull into what could be a hard place to get in or to get back out of I look at every option on how to get my truck in or out of the place....BTW maybe your right I have seen peeps that cant even back a car up

I am pretty good friends with a few rookie female drivers. They've told me they would rather have had a male trainer. Their female trainers were bigger pigs than most male drivers.

Best of luck to you! This industry will either be good for you or make you crazy. cwayyyyyyzeeee :)

Really? Just remain professional, act with some self respect and dignity and dress for work, not the bar... It's not that hard. Not all driver's are dirtbags. There are a lot of nice average guys out there just trying to feed their family and trust me they are not always walking hard on's.

Think about this: Do you think drivers get to shower everyday? NO! Trust me, after your butt's been sweating in that seat for 8 hours... he isn't thinking of you that way...

    Very true.

As for backing, I'm dang good at it, thankfully. Not common sense, but I'm thankful I'm good at it all the same.

I am not concerned about a male driver being a "walking hard on". I do not dress like a bar fly-nor do I act like one.
I am well aware you do not shower everyday. My father drove for 58 years..so I know exacty what it is like out there. I spent a lot of time in the truck with him.
I think my concern was more about patience... mostly because my father is ultra old school and never cared for woman drivers (however, he does support me).

WoW, 58 years is a long time. I like talking to guys like that and hearing how it was back in the day. I bet he can tell a story.

He's gotta have the worst case of monkey butt ever.

YOU WILL NEVER HAVE TO SHOWER WITH YOUR TRAINER!!!
You will fuel and use his points card to fuel with ( it's his truck after all) When the two of you go to the fuel desk the trainer will handover his card and ask for a TEAM shower. That just means that the two of you NEED TWO SEPERATE showers.
    As a side note here
Take a large spray can of lysol or other disinfectent with you and your own towel. The Lysol is self-explainatory and you'll see why I recommend your own towel:biggrin_25523:
